Hi guys, I have a bunch of death krops of Krieg models that I'm trying to put together and I'm having the hardest time trying to match the arms up on these guys!! The first squad I put together I had cut all the arms off the sprue without even thinking and realized later that all the Lasgun arms have matching supporting arms, so basically needless to say they came out all uneven and I had to greenstuff the heck out of them to look some what decent.

so my second order came in, and this time I made sure to match all the lasgun arms with the right supporting arms to ensure they fit together properly. Problem is certain arm pairs will only work with certain bodys which turns out are numbered as well!!!!

the documentation that came with the models is terrible, just has some pictures nothing saying which arm pairs go with which body, the arm pairs don't seem to have numbers on them, some are not label while some have letters and I tried to match the letters with the numbers on the body ie A goes with 1, B goes with 2, despite this the arms still do not line up correctly, its frustrating because I spent so much time and money on these guys I want them to come out looking good.

I had a similar problem putting together the lascannon HWT, I had to backwards engineer how the lascannon was suppose to be put together, I mean seriously how hard is it to include directions with your models?

Does anyone have a good experience with putting them together? perhaps a list of which arms go with which? would be a big help!

I am working on DKOK myself, I never use the instructions, why would you want to? I mean i have found that some simple arm swap conversions which lead to the models looking better than the same old standard "this arm goes there that arm goes here approach" I will be putting up my DKOK models soon so have a look if you want some ideas for conversions.

I am afraid there is no quick way... Well not that I have found.
I did use the instructions and still had to greenstuff sone places.

Elysians do the same thing.

Although I must have guessed right, as only 2 of my models didn't quite work. My meltagunner still looks a bit odd.

I just got my first batch this month, and I find that dry fitting and keeping matched bodies/arm pairs organized really helps with keeping things straight. I'm just glad that, being a Guard player normally, I was already used to arm matching from Shock Troop kits.

And I agree, the 'documentation' isn't all that great, especially the shouldered lasgun model, just a shoot from the back?! What arms do you use!

Either way, they look pretty badass, and I will be getting more.

Hi,

I have a large DKOK army (4 Infantry Squads, 2 Command Squads, 6 Heavy Weapon Teams, 5 Death Riders and 1 HQ Command Squad) and I completely feel your pain.

When I first got them I noticed two things. First, the moulds and models are just amazing. Well sculpted and truly beautiful. I then noticed how terrible Forge World instructions are. A poor quality print of the model at one angle which you can barely see? Really not helpful.

I had to spend a while working out just how the **** the weapons for my HWTs went together cause the instructions were so poor. And I feel you on the whole arm/gun arm thing. Having all the guys I do, you just kinda have to spend a lot (A LOT) of time before assembling to absolutely make sure you have the right gun arm with support arm and that they will all go on a matched body perfectly. Lot's of dryfitting and patience is needed.

So I can't really give you any easy way around building them. All I'll say is, give the beautiful (and expensive) models the time they deserve and just persevere with lot's of preparation and dry-fitting before you consider picking up glue.

Good luck!

EDIT: Oh one last thing. Maybe it was just because i had so many, but I never bothered with the shoulder armour parts that aren't already moulded. Seriously FW, you're gonna stick the damn sprue connection right into the part that is meant to fit flatly onto the model? No thanks. If I was you, I'd remove that step. The models don't really suffer for it unless you are an absolute purist and must have them bang-on right. But it can save you alot of time and anger!

I spend like an hour on each model getting rid of model lines, don't get me wrong I love the models and the detail, I just wish the models were a lot easier to assemble and not so fragile, most of the time a lot of models are warped, even after being placed in hot water and bent, they still retain their wrapped shape, I just wish Forge world cared more about quality control, especially for the price they charge :(

Ill post some pictures of the problems I'm having tomorrow, I think its easier to show it then try to explain it. My camera is unfortunately has a dead batteries at the moment.

Also do people find it easier to glue all the equipment on, then prime and paint or glue it on after its primed and painted? I can't decide which is easier.

For me, I'd totally build all my DKOK troops but leave both arms off. That was enough to be able to paint all their details. If you start leaving off small bits like their bayonet sheaths you might find it tricky to try and hold and paint those small pieces.

I get what you're saying with FW and quality control. Far too many pieces come warped or with lots of flash given the price tag.
