What would everyone say if I made a Master Necromancer by converting a 40k catachan to have a fancy haircut, cleft chin, chainsword for a hand, lasgun strapped to his back and a book he can't read very well? Cookies for those who get the reference.

You mean movie right? (I thought it was pretty good btw)

@OP, I reckon it would be pretty cool, but I think a combat shotgun would make a better boomstick

I'd love to use an actual shotgun, but noone that I know has that particular bit, I may put off adding any gun until I can get an actual shotgun

Thankfully some people got the correct reference, was beginning to feel old when JC mentioned the video game and not the movies.

He's talking about Evil Dead, which was a movie series before it was a couple of bad games on the PS2. The movies were really good, if you like corny horror with lots of fake blood and rubber monsters, or slapstick medieval comedy (in the case of the third movie).

I'm confused as to how that is supposed to be a master necromancer...

I'm going to use a pink elephant for my cannon and my little ponies as terminators(oh what people do the second one).

It's supposed to be the main character from the Evil Dead/Army of Darkness movies who (though accidentally) summons a horde of undead monsters. It's a 4th wall break for the sake of fun.

Also if you like awesome.

But yeah. It's not exactly "conversion" material for WHFB.

Lol I got it.
You can go for it if you want, after all it's your hobby.
But of course, only use him if your friends get it, I don't think the guys at GW would agree with it.

Because it's kind of a silly conversion.

It's something you'd be fine to do for your own silly purposes, or to do it just to do it. But it's more that if you see it on the tabletop and don't know the guy doing it--you think he's just been lazy and thrown bits and pieces together.

Personally, if I were you and wanting to do a "Master Necromancer"?

If you're planning on getting a Mortis Engine/Coven Throne--there's a really nice looking "hooded figure" in there which can be used as a Necromancer if you're going to field the Coven Throne.

Years and years ago, I recall reading White Dwarf and seeing a VC army (well, they were called "Undead" back in those days) themed around Army of Darkness. Evil Ash was the general, undead Shiela was a banshee, etc... they even had Ash's car with the skeleton-chopping propeller on it! I wish I still had the issue, I'd post scans of it.

Emperor's Eagles (undergoing Chapter reorganization)
Caledonian 95th (undergoing regimental reorganization)
Thousands Sons (undergoing Warband re--- wait, are any of my 40K armies playable?)
