Sooo. As part of a load of 'nids that I bought for a steal, I have 12 Warriors. I need/want 9 Hive Guard and 3 Raveners. the Ravener conversion looks pretty easy to perform: just hack off the lower half of the warriors, add a wire armature, greenstuff a tail on it and replace any ranged weapons with scything talons. The problem I believe I'm going to have is creating Hive Guard out of the Warriors.. From the pictures and fluff, they have large, smooth portions of armor.. very unlike the Warrior's armor and they also happen to have 4 feet, which may also complicate things. Their main armament, I think could be easily converted from a Heavy Venom Cannon, or hell.. I could just USE a Heavy Venom Cannon, they look enough alike and I don't have any others through out my army.

Soooo, do any dakkanauts have any suggestions on how best to perform this conversion?

Somewhere in south-central England.

Mine are converted Raveners. They are a similar size to the Warriors.

The guns are crab claws off the Carnifex and a venom cannon. You can get those parts quite easily and cheaply from bits sellers. No-one wanted Crab claws last year once the new codex nerfed them.

I did them with two guns to represent the two shots of the Hive Guard gun. Green stuff was also involved, of course.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

And nobody gives you guff about them essentially being raveners with guns? As cool as they are, I hadn't thought about just putting really big guns on them and calling it done. I figured more extensive modeling would be in order.

I have done some work on a warrior to hive guard conversion. I hope that the pictures will give you some ideas of how I went about starting them. There are 2 more pictures in my gallery from a couple of different angles.
