Hi everyone,
I've got an Asus G73JH laptop and while the thing has a very beastly spec for a laptop and can run most new games at near-max settings, it has constantly been a bit of a pain. I know from my last time having problems with it through Google searches that the model is very, very temperamental - if not completely flawed from the box. It seems that the whole model itself isn't really built too well and will always run into problems, based on the level of issues people on the internet have with it.
Regardless, I sent it in about a year ago as it had to have its motherboard replaced and this whole process took at least two months.
Fast forward to the current day. It had been going perfectly since I got it back, but just today I was running Napoleon Total War with a Khartum mod. I used to run this same mod months ago and the laptop was fine, but now every time I play this game the laptop eventually shuts down after about 50 minutes, with noticeable extreme heat. It has two large vents at the back - one for air input and one for air output (it's a kind of circulatory system) and it just seems like it isn't getting enough air to cancel out the extreme temperatures being generated.
I use it on a standard wooden desk in a room temperature heat and give it as much space at the back as physically possible to maximise ventilation, but the thing just keeps shutting down. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to stop this? Cooling or ventilation tips? Because right now I can't play any games on it, and it's becoming a bit of a pain!
Thanks a bundle in advance!
