So, this rule feels strange to me. If I'm running, let's say, a lone character, and he charges an ogre unit, he has to charge between the ogres different bases, so as many ogres as possible may attack? Or does the rule only refer to as many models as possible in the charging unit (which means I would be able to place him with only one ogre in b2b instead of two)?
Also, what happens if the charge range only allows for one out of ten models to get into b2b? Is the charge failes, since that isn't as many models as could possible get into b2b, or is the charge successful since one model is as many models in b2b as possible if you consider the charge range?

Maximum contact from both sides, no wussing out if he's badass enough to run solo he better be ready to prove it
On the second question the charge goes trough with that awklwardly low contact count, sometimes terrain/a unit just gets in the way.

we had a situation with a monster (ghorgon) and a infantry unit (gors) charging same unit, we didnt do this, but thought would the ghorgon have to edge clip the unit, only one corner touching, to allow maximum models from the gor unit to get into b2b? it seems strange but as the rules are written wouldnt we have to do that?

See then it depends on which unit makes it's charge move first, so if the gors move first and take up the whole frontage of the target then the monster will get corner contact, if the monster charges first however it will likely slap the target right in the middle and leave the gors with very little room.

This is incorrect. See pg 23 Multiple Charges on a Unit. You roll the charge distances at the same time (aka before you resolve any charges), then maximize and equalize. There is no way to move the monster first to deny frontage to the Gors on a multi-charge, as the requirement to maximize is still there.
Clipping with the monster is usually how it will end up.

There's no way you can reduce the maximization because of a lack of movement. Once the distance is measured and the dice roll says you're in, you're in. You can move an infinite amount, you get one wheel up to 90 degrees which must be used to maximize both sides and one alignment wheel to make sure the front of your unit is flush with the enemy. No sliding, no clipping unless absolutely necessary (as with the ghorgon eg), and if you cant wheel or make it to the appropriate facing (because of units or impassable terrain) your charge fails.

Please put this on your sig if you know someone, work for someone or are related to someone who suffers from stupidity. Stupidity is real and should be taken seriously. You could be sitting next to a sufferer right now. There is still no known cure for stupidity and sympathy does not help. But we can raise awareness.... 93% won't copy and paste this because they don't know how to copy and paste |

Wow, so this is how it works? We've been playing it wrong all the time! Thanks a lot for clearing that up!
