Transaction report on a trade that went wrong:

At 13/12/2011 i initated a trade with ADAMEAST to buy four Necron Wraiths from him of his trade list here on DAKKA DAKKA
At 02/01/2012 i payed him 40£ through paypall with the mention of my adress, sent him a seperatie PM with my adress
At 07/01/2012 i posted in his thread cause he did not respond to payment or acknowledged he sent the models.
At 20/01/2012 i pm'd him no reply
At 23/01/2012 i pm's him for a status report and said i would file a transaction report if he did not react, nothing
At 25/01/2012 i pm'd him no reply

I'm fed up with this, does anyone know this guy or know how to reach, so he can at last send me the models or get me my money back!!!

Just make a claim through paypal. I don't know if you're over the claim limit but you're probably pretty close so file it now.

Fairly confident you have 30 days to file, so you need to do it, like, today.

You'd be surprised how often a non-communicative seller suddenly becomes downright gabby when a claim's been filed, btw.

I don't think it matters if there isn't a linked item. Paypal has the transaction in its records (as should your account) that you sent the payment. You should be able to use that to indicate that you never received the item.

If he received your money, then his paypal account works (or at least did for your transaction). I'd still try to get the process started with paypal asap.

Under the resolution center in your paypal account, you can click on 'view open case' which will allow you to click on 'dispute a transaction' under 'report a problem' As long as you sent the payment to him, and he received it (the funds were taken from your account), it should appear there, and you can file the dispute.

You can still get the money back through paypal if you are within the 31 days (check what it is, I could be wrong) limit. I have done it myself about 2 years ago, so unless it's all changed since then.

Also was it with money you put on paypal or did you use your card/bank transfer through paypal? If it's the second one then your bank should be able to get you the money back.

It is so easy to get your money back from this type of scam I don't know how people expect to get away with it.

With this kind of thing time is really of the essence so start sending emails/making phone calls right now!

If the money was sent via Paypal Gift then you have no chance of getting it back though.
People are also saying you can get it back via your bank. Paypal are no longer regulated in most countires now including the UK as they are far too High Risk so i would not look to your bank for help either.

Valek I hate to say it but I have no good news, I as well purchased 15 scarab's, three Heavy Destroyers, and two Tomb Spyders on 1/04/12 for the price of $78. I have asked Adameast for the tracking # he promised he would send me on 1/06/12, I have repeatedly sent messages to him over dakkadakka but he has not replied.

Cherokee, have you filed a paypal dispute/claim yet? If not, it seems like you should probably go ahead and do so- he will have a chance to respond if he has just gotten behind or the like, but it will protect you to do so quickly (I believe the final cut-off is 45 days, but there may need to be something initial done within 30 days as well, and you're close to that now).

If you are talking about on paypal then yes the time period is 45 days, and as I am typing this message I am filling a claim.

Well, considering I also bought those 4x Wraiths from adameast, I believe we should both file a PayPal dispute.

I always include the transaction details as a note attached to the payment, and paid with Visa via PayPal, so I am very insulated.

I hope that you guys took those precautions as well.

PayPal gives you 45 days from your initial payment to file the claim, and I advised adameast that i would be filing the claim as of Feb 6th, however in light of this post I believe I will file it right now, as it would appear that he has received payment from both of us for the same product.

Azazel, can you confirm when you paid for the wraiths?

Also, given that you all paid by Paypal I take it you have his alternate contact information (email). He hasn't posted for 2 weeks and doesn't seem to be checking here... and, of course, if it's confirmed that he's sold the same items to multiple people, he will have a very short further tenure here and alternate contact information will be needed...

Thanks. I recommend that people try contacting Adameast through email, since he does not seem to be checking here... but more importantly file the Paypal claims and shortly escalate them to disputes.

I mailed to the email of his paypall account and this one is giving me a mail delay, I'm quite sure this one is a fraud.

I have seen before where people state that you do it as a different kind of transaction on Paypal to avoid fees (i.e. not a "purchase"). Unfortunately, that also means you cannot dispute purchases. Its usually better to pay the extra couple bucks to make sure its disputable. Better check with your bank and best of luck to you.

How did that came to be? Can you check the details to why it says no goods involved?

If you send money through paypal as a "gift" then there are no/fewer fees involved, but unfortunately, there is no protection either. I would recommend not doing business with any seller who insists on sending payment via paypal as a gift.

Really? We tried doing it with all the different options last time and couldnt find any change in the fee amount.

Yeah, never purchase anything and use PayPal to declare it as a 'gift', because it will then be immune to disputes.

I have opened a dispute, but have yet to escalate it to a claim (I've got 'til Feb 18th). I definitely did not send payment as a 'gift', and I even attached a note to the payment declaring it as payment for specified, tangible goods.

Hopefully PayPal doesn't screw me, because going to Visa is a pain.

On Bartertown, we've had people successfully dispute "gift" payments in the past.
They (a) spoke with an agent (b) were VERY persistent and (c) provided proof that it actually WAS for a purchase, rather than a true gift.
While the official word may be that you cannot dispute a gift, I know for a fact it's happened in the past.

Guys, I would also like to add my 2 cents to this.

I done a trade with Adameast Monday this week. He PMed me often which made me think everything was ok. As soon as I sent the money I've had no reply. I have sent him several PMs and also a personal e-mail. The paypal address I sent goods too was This is the same email address that I have received from several people, please share it via PM is this what everyone else used? The company url is the same but doesn't work. I search Google and it appears that company is music related.

I saw this transaction report and I have immediately filed for a claim. I know it's early, but based off everyone else's feedback I am not taking chances. I can esculate my claim by the 7th of Feb and Paypal have said they will refund me.

Also, some advice to the mods. I know this is a forum and not really a service, though I checked the transaction report list for this username and nothing appear. Now I have found a transaction report. Can that list please be kept updated as I wouldn't have done a trade with this person at all.
