i actually live in aloha, lookn for a place to play some 40k other than rivals and rainy day games. both good shops but it would be nice to be in a place where people show up where at rainy day games people dont and a place with lights where rivals is lacking. anyone know of a good place?

I know Dakka member Pretre is in Portland, and has mentioned Guardian Games in Portland and Ancient Wonders in Tualatin, beofre. I think there's another nearby called Other Worlds, as well?

Yeah, Guardian is awesome, has beer and is in downtown PDX. They also have a league every month and there's a tournament on 3/3. http://ggportland.com

If you're in Aloha, Other Worlds is probably closer, it is in Multnomah Village. Tournament on 2/11. http://otherworldgames.com

There's Knightfall Games out near Beaverton which is even closer to you. Monthly tournaments there. http://knightfallgames.com

Yeah... Rainy Day in Aloha. I haven't been out there in like 5 years and I remember it lacking in 40k. Never been to Rivals.

That's the local forum that folks in the NW use. Has listings for all the tournaments, local leagues and a lot of folks you can hook up with for games. Some of them come here, but you'll get a much more local view there.

There are a few of us here in Bridgetown, but we play at home to stay away from the kids, cause adults should not have to hang out with kids if you cuss like I do

Yeah, Guardian Games in downtown Portland has a 21+ room that serves beer after noon (I think that's the time). Tournaments there are pretty awesome and I don't even drink.

Also, there is WOW (Western Oregon Wargamers). It is a club downtown that has a Tuesday game night and other events. That gives you a nice safe environment for play without worrying about your profanity.
