i was just think if ever at times factions can and have used other factions equipment.
like for example

could a space marine not wearing power armour, use a tau crisis battle suit.
or
a tau crisis suit being equipped with necron gauss weapons
or even
IG putting a dark or bright lances on to a baneblade tank

things like that

SM and IG will not under any circumstance, use xeno tech.
why? Because heresy. Unless the IG are Gue'vesa...in that case...nope, still heresy.

Necrons weapons cannot be used because they are too advanced, and any tinkering with them will have some horrible results.

There are very few extremely rare cases of the IoM using xeno tech, the most familiar being some Ordo Xenos inquisitor who believe to defeat your enemy you need to use your enemies' weapons.

Necron tech is FAAAR to advanced to use as CthululsSpy has said.

Radical Inquisitors, yes. Normal rules do not apply to the Inquisition.

Other Imperials ... not so much. Using xenos equipment is heresy, and people are generally too proud, too faithful or too scared (both by the stuff being "alien" as well as the vengeance of their own allies) to use it.

I'm not fluid enough in the other races to propose anything beyond an educated guess, though I'd say Tau are probably the ones most likely to use other peoples' stuff, if only because they are rather open-minded - or naive - about working with other races.

Eldar are probably too proud and see other races' equipment as barbaric or - in the case of Necrons - too tainted/creepy.

As people have made clear it wouldn't happen in the imperium, Orks however do loot other races tech.

In short.. ONLY the Orks can/will do something like this.

But the problem:

Eldar=not enough Dakka
Dark Eldar=not enough Dakka
Tau= not enough Dakka
Necron= we cant get da Meks to 'em fast enough to get it, but not enough Dakka
Imperial Guard= uvva den dem tanks, dey don't gots enough Dakka
Space Marines= Deys dead 'ard, wiv plenty o' Dakka

I think people are far to rigid about this. Yes there are moments when someone is gunna use the other guys stuff but it is limited. Chaos marines and traitor guard? They certainly would make use of what they could get there hands on. Same with orks. If they can get it to fire it's good.

Elder weapons would be tough since there weapons have a slight phsycic connection to fire them.

I would imagine tau are wise enuff to use someone else's guns if they find them better in someway.
