I'm unsure if this is the right thread to post this in but does anyone know of any novels in 40k that include the Tyranids? I already have Warriors of Ultramar and the one with the Word Bearers, Dark Apostle I think its called but i'm interested in finding more as i like reading about battles against the Tyranids.

Tyranids, or at least Genestealer cults, show up very often in the Ciaphas Cain novels.

Anyway, books I've read with Tyranids in them are Ciaphas Cain, Fear the Alien, and Ice Guard. Ice Guard in particularly loves to go into the gorey details of how terrifying and brutal it is to fight Tyranids.

Genestealers land on a planet in some kind of Imperial transport, and infect people. And use those humans influences to find and infect people higher up the government ladder, until they have replaced the planets Governor. Their psychic beacon gets strong enough to attract a hive fleet, wherein they disable defences and allow the hive fleet to walk in and consume the world. Sometimes even going so far as to convincing the populace that hey, they might be totally awesome gods, line up and be fed to them!

Once the Tyranids invade and consume the planet, some Genestealers try to flee on Imperial transports escaping and set up shop on another planet, while others fight as shock troops emerging from the defences themselves and slaughtering defenders.

DoW 2 by Chris Roberson. Also has Orks. Has some references to options you could get with the 4th ed codex, but.not too bad.
