It will, it'll just take a bit longer than people tend to be happy with.

You're in Canada, which means you can probably do this:

If that mini is metal, grab yourself some Lacquer Thinner and a glass jar with a lid. Set that dude of yours in there, and give him a nice toxic bath (remove the base). Come back a day later (or 20 minutes, it's wonderful), give him a quick 1-over with a toothbrush, and he'll be the shiniest mini ever.

No Lacquer Thinner? Acetone. Nail Polish Remover. Dot-3 Brake Fluid. These are the heavy hitters that are great because metal is metal
