INTRODUCTION
-
Welcome to my WHFB Skaven blog! This is generally a compendium of everything I have going on regarding WHFB and the hobby and is inspired by the other many people on this forum who do these blogs, battle reports and post up pictures of there models, painting and army lists etc. So I've gone ahead and made this for myself, not only as a collection of lists and my progress towards completing my Skaven army but as motivation to continue on with it until its completion and monitoring my progress both on and off the battlefield!
Comments are more then welcome as are suggestions / advice and general chat relating to my many various venture as I delve hopefully into the competitive world of WHFB and the hobby itself

It should be noted however, this is a constant WiP sooo bare with me always

ARMY LISTS

As far as my army lists go I try to keep a fairly moderate influence of the clan Skryre present within all of them, so while some might not be omptimum for competitiveness they will usually have there reasons though it would be appreciated if all suggestions / flames / disagreements regarding army lists were to be posted here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/426666.page

As for the lists I have a fair few overall and they become more diverse around the 2000pt mark

The alternate list is without the use of Plague monks, though I do prefer plague monks over stormvermin on account of wanting to feature a plague furnace over a screaming bell at 2500pts and the fact that from 2 ranks of 5 they can pull out about 30 attacks alone while being toughness 4.

MODELLING

Actual models that I now own... 1 Abom, 1 Forge world warlord on blood horror, 240 Slaves, 60 Clanrats, 20 stormvermin, 20 plague monks, grey seer, 3 warlocks, 8 rat ogres, 18 giant rats, 3 handlers, 8 weapons teams, 2 warp lightning cannons. Pictures pending for my model customizations / improvisations.

PAINTING

IoB Warlord - I used this generally to test my painting, I haven't painted in quite a long time so this is probably the first model to be done in a few years, it came out pretty well but the picture quality isn't that great.
- Yet to be based.

The next thing I painted, generally speed painted was a weapons team. Not the same quality of painting I used on the warlord, generally in essence the idea for this was to do it quickly over the duration of the day - Somewhat of a practice for batch painting (I have 300+ models to go) I don't think it came out too badly, a little much inking more then it needed but it was the first / test for my batching.
- Yet to be based.

Finally based some and found access to a much nicer camera.

Minor update, a model count of sorts, a handful of pictures of the first models to be painted for this army (and for me in general in a good while now)

Okay so big update on the way, going to be overhauling all of the pictures with my new mini photo cubicle thing for models! As well as not sure I can say guides? but a run down of how Im painting up my billions of skaven and such!

Looking for an update around this coming monday I've been totally swamped with things to do but thankfully with this new 14megapixel camera quality of this thread should improve!

Much needed update! I've been a little occupied with my 40K stuff but I haven't been neglecting my skaven too much

after all theres a bucket load of work still needs doing!

Okay so firstly I'm going to upload some 'new' images, my slaves as it were before I re-do the previous images now I have a far more superior camera at my disposal!.

So inc slaves! a mere 5 of 200+

Have noticed an error on some of the earlier painted ones, the warlord in particular and those with lots of metal is the non-divided use of the same water seems to have given somewhat glittery effect here and there from the metalic paint :S I'll have to watch for that in future.

Also my skaven are quite sophisticated in there color scheme

Slaves - Cream dirty robes
Clanrats & Weapons teams - Cream and green topped robes.
Elite units - Green robes
Grey seer - Clean white robes

Not an update really at the moment, Going to be re-organizing this blog within the next couple of days so keep an eye out!

Also refining my list with the upcomming arrival of my chaos, as well as my Skaven army as I bought too many! And just can't bring myself to paint 260 slaves I've worked it down to a 100'ish most likely and will be focusing in around the getting the models that are actually going to be used done!
