Lots of mid table shooting. Capable of shooting 36 str 7 rending Psycannon shots and 12 str 8 Autocannons. And it has the CC it needs to be affective. Grand Strategy from Mordrak could make any type of game very interesting. KP game, could Outflank Purifier rhinos, Objective game can make the purifiers or the Dread scoring, if its going to be a big CC game I can re-roll 1's to wound or counterattack for at least a few units.

Well, I'd add an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor w/ terminator armor and psycannon to Mordrak's unit.

O.o that is a good call, because if I needed I could DS on turn 1 without a scatter and shoot the Phsycannon as relentless.

I run an all Terminator list now for fun/competative that has a Libby in it, because Warp Rift is just awesome for dropping out of the sky and blowing tanks or multiple tanks up.

I will have to see what I can fit in.

Well, the Inquisitor is a bargain and costs 80 pts only.

Hard part is finding where I can get 80pts free at 2000. I would normally say NP and fit that in. Issue is that list as optimized as it can be without just dropping units completely.

Well, I'd leave the army as it is. But Mordrak and 3 Ghosts is a bit less for an alpha strike.

That is where people go sadly wrong with Mordrak, he really isn't an Alpha strike anything. You can beef him up to 5 Ghosts and add a Libarian or an Inquistor in Terminator to the squad so now you are throwing 500+ points down on turn 1 into enemy territory where there isn't anything around to help support them?? So you can shoot with 1 Warp Rift or 1 Relentless Psycannon. I don't think so.

You can have him start on the table and walk is always an option, if its objective even better! Make him scoring and keep the +3 stealth cover save, GL knocking that off the objective in shooting.

BUT if you really wanted to "Alpha" Strike him, and since he doesn't scatter and you can put him anywhere on the board you want. Pick a nice tasty spot like lets say next to a group of Loota's in a building... away from the rest of the army. Chances are they are on the 2nd or 3rd floor of the building to be able to see the table for shooting, and rightly so they should be. Drop right at the base of the building and in the Shooting phase you run into the building.... ya need a 3+ and you are totally underneath them. Next turn? dead Lootas? There are plenty of ways to make this happen against any other list you might play. You just can't be like I have to drop Mordrak in someones gun line and hope he causes enough damage with 1 gun that I don't die.
