Simple concept; simply list those topics that *keep* popping up and make you die a little inside each time you see them.

I'll start with:

-Space Marines vs. Spartans
-Space Marines vs. Jedi
-'How will it all end?' (speculating on 'the fate of the Imperium', etc.)
-Tau (anything on this most unholy of subjects leads to emotional flaming from all!)

...urrrr... I dunno

Space Marines/IoM v. Whatever.

It always leads to a flamewar in which there are no winners, only survivors.

Matt Ward, Ultramarines, and Grey Knight hate. Sorry folks it went out of fashion to hate these subjects blindly a while ago.

"The Imperium is nothing if not willing to go to any lengths necessary. So the Trekkies are zipping around at warp speed taking small chucks out of an nigh-on infinite amount of ships, with the Imperium being unable to strike back. feth it, says central command, and detonates every vortex warhead in the fleet, plunging the entire sector into the Warp. Enjoy tentacle-rape, Kirk, we know Sulu will." -Terminus

Ultramarines hate is very much a case of "we hate it 'cause it's popular or prevalent in some fashion."

I like the Ultramarines, and really hating something because it's popular is treading dangerously on Hipster territory. Warhammer 40k Hipsters......

It isn't about blind pony hate, I just feel it has no place in relation to 40K.

@DeadlySquirrel

I'd like to toss in with the Primarch points about 80% of posts talking about an army someone is making that is derived from a missing Primarch... or a missing FEMALE Primarch (HERESY!)

And eurgh, people who think the Tau are commies when they're clearly Confucian do irk me.

One can appreciate MLP as a funny cartoon that can indeed be enjoyed by adults and yet still raise eyebrows at the sheer level of err... shall we say, 'commitment' or 'blind adulation' that they receive?

Funny comments on YouTube videos like 'I'm a 24 year old US Marine... and I love watching My Little Pony' is all well and good, but then parsing onto a thread where grown men are lamenting that they were unable to purchase a Fluttershy toy in WalMart... well, that's what made me stop using the tag 'Brony'.

Warhammer 40k, has always been based around making your own world. It is no ones right to bad mouth another designs. Not to mention Flower necrons, hello kitty marines....

Threads can only be derailed by more than one person, I was just responding to the MLP hate, I have a right to defend myself

Anyway, back on topic. I don't like to place hate on anyone considering this game is about doing what you want and painting what you want. Hating is just the short-term production of getting crushed by a "Overpowered Army" or just being angry because THEY LIKE SOMETHING I DO NOT, RALALALALLALGAGAGAGAGAG.

Which primarch is stronger/ which is truly a heretic, I.E. Magnus the Red, enough about the primarchs overall, just let them be dead/demon princes/ suspended in stasis/ lost to the warp/ any other ill fortune any of them suffered, because that is truly what has happened.

+1 to the I play this (x) army how do you beat this (y) army... Kinda the point of the game to me is figuring that out.

Anything vs. anything threads belong in a large, unmarked grave along with Mat Ward hate threads, Finecast hate threads (FAILCOST, FINECO$T, FAILCRAPST I'M SO CLEVER HURRRRRRR) and anyone who asks for army recommendations without giving the community anything to work off of. I'd love to recommend you an army, userguy#x, but unless you tell me what armies you have and what armies you like the sound of, it's just going to be an echo chamber for a million people to say what army they like best.

@ Its not even that for me Kat, its the fact the thread contains literally no other info. Sometimes you've taken the tactics as far as you can in your gaming group and need to ask for advice outside the circle but when I see threads like "I play, Orks, how can I beat IG" and literally nothing else its a complete facepalm for me.
Points level, army build, opponent build, opponent playstlye, terrain composition, special characters Y/N etc etc etc.
Jaysus just give us a little bit more info!

C.S Goto threads.

Yes, we get it, the vast majority of the 40K fanbase despises him, and there is a small section of said fanbase that likes him and vehemently defend him.
However, any time this is brought up, the thread always turns into the same thing;
Massive hate-based circlejerk followed by flamewar when one Goto fan (fairly courageously) steps into the ring to defend his name.

Draigo hate.
Matt Ward hate.
GW hate.
Legacy era character power inflation, eg "the Emperor was a god who could smash planets with his brain!"

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.
