Legions is a great place to play. Not sure the vibe of the players though. Im sure you can find someone who would be willing to teach you the ropes. If you let me know when you would like to play, I would take a trip down to legions. Shoot me a PM.

The players at Legions are great! There's a big crowd that ranges from beginner's to successful tournament players. Pretty much anyone would be willing to get in a game or help someone learn. Snake Eyes Gaming just ran a Warhammer 40K Beginner's Event at Legions, there were 50 participants. A normal intermediate to advanced tournament gets 40+ participants. You can check out Snake Eyes Gaming here, http://snakeyesgaming.blogspot.com/.
As previously stated, the atmosphere is good at the store. The play space is enormous (there are 15 Warhammer tables constantly set up with additionally tables set up for Flames of War that can easily be changed over). Friday night is the best night for Warhammer 40K or Warhammer Fantasy (the store is open until 2 AM those nights). If you decide to stop in feel free to ask me for a game, I play Space Wolves and am a member of Snake Eyes Gaming.

You can't go wrong with legions, I played there alot back when I was in college (I went to Pitt), my buddy runs most of the tornys there and he does a great job. There are a ton of players and the store is HUGE. Theres also a store in Oakland called phantom of the attic, they game Sunday. Smaller store (4 tables) but the crowd there is pretty friendly, mostly college students and locals.
