I've been absent from Dakka for a bit, and now that I'm back, I've noticed that I periodically get logged out from Dakka. Now, I grant that I have been forced to use a different and far inferior ISP which drops my service regularly, but I don't think that's what's happening here. It's not happening to any other site I use, so I'm wondering if I'm the only one this is happening to.

I've noticed that Dakka has some security feature where if I log on from a different device, it logs me out from other devices. I assume that's tied into the IP switching.

Perhaps every time you drop service, you get assigned a new IP.

Yup exactly that. It is a bit overzealous perhaps but it means that nobody can hijack your account with a man in the middle attack.

Then I shall lay the blame squarely with Mediacom. Not like they'll notice, since it seems like they're responsible for everything that goes wrong around here...
