So after a few games I found some holes in my 1500 blood angels list and I have made some minor changes.
1. Lack of long range fire power is a huge disadvantage. You need cover fire.
2. Getting locked into combat, especially with a monstrous creature, sucks.
3. Powerfists are slow. If you are running 4 Assault Squads like I am you should have two anti-tank with 2 melta and a pf and two anti-infantry with 2 flamers and a power waepon.
Here is the list I am going to start running.
HQ
Librarian-Jump Pack, Shield of Sanguinius and Unleash Rage 125pts
Elites
3 Sanguinary Priests 2 Jump Packs 200pts
Troops
Assault Marines 10: 2xMeltagun, Powerfist 235
Assault Marines 10: 2xMeltagun, Powerfist 235
Assault Marines 10: 2xMeltagun, Power Weapon 225
Assault Marines 10: 2xFlamer, Power Weapon, Melta Bombs 220
Heavy Support
5 Devastator Squad, x4 Missile Launchers 130pts
5 Devastator Squad, x4 Missile Launchers 130pts

Looks good, and the only suggestion i'd make is to drop a jump pack from one of the sanguinary priests. Then he can babysit the devestators, as three chalices (two priests plus honour guard) between four assault squads should be plenty.
grrr

Why would i need to take off a jump pack for that?

1) Honor Guard are overpriced for what you get. A full Assault Squad would perform better and cost only 10 points more. A small Vanguard Squad would be even better since you already have 40 Assault marines.
2) 3 Sanguinary Priests are a bit excessive for the amount of troops you have. Its a 6" FNP bubble, so you can easily cover 2 squads.
<rant> I only ever play against Blood Angels, haven't actually played them, but I'm confused on the constant need for Devastators. Dropping them to take more Assault Marines and Vanguard and loading up on Melta/Flamers I would think would see you through. You can combat squad as you deep strike now if you need to, so you can pop off a few vehicles with Melta hits, and if you have some Vanguard you can tie the cargo up in the assault phase.
Against horde lists it is of course a different story, but I suppose I'm just surprised you need the ranged fire given how fast you are moving and most deployment types.</rant>
Note I'm not saying to remove the Devastators. Missile Launchers never are bad to bring. I'm just not visualizing the need in a DoA army.

A lot of armies have long rang firepower, high armor tanks, monstrous creatures and stronger, faster power weapon elite troops. 8 missiles a turn can help a lot.
I made some changes and brought the list back down to 1500 since that's what I will mostly be playing until a 1750 tournament in May.

The HG is gone as far as I can see. The list looks actually quite good. I'd leave those Sanguinary Priests providing toughness to your precious Assault Marines.

The two with jet packs go with the assault marines and the other babysits my devastators. I plan to start using this list and playtesting with it so I can use it in March in a 1500 tournament. In May there is going to be a 1750 one. What would you recommend I add to the list for that one? I could add 2 squads of vanguard veterans with PF or 2 rifledreds or a HG with meltas and melta bombs.

Vanguard Vets are quite useful in a DoA army as they can eventually charge upon arrival thanks to heroic intervention. In this way, they can silence guns.

Yeah thats why I was leaning towards them. They can help tie stuff up for a turn or two and buy my other guys some time.

I use the VV to great success. I'd be worried about the Dev's though, if you end up going second, thats 2 full turns of shooting your opponent has. In the games I've played they usually don't last that long (esp. against IG)

I definitely prefer the VVs to adding vehicles.

Any Vehicles I add would just end up having a big X on em and not last too long. VV seem like the best for 1750.
