The guide that comes with it is utterly useless, and the online guides no longer exists. Nothing seems to fit right. Anyone?

Old Chimera or new?

The old chimera kit has a notorious problem that the tracks were not the correct size so no matter what you did, you have to mod your chimera a little to get that last track in.

The new chimera is pretty straightforward, there's little arrows pointing where you need to put glue and slot which part in.

The treads were pretty straightforward it's just the hull peices don't seem to fit AT ALL.

If it's the old chimera kit, you also get bits to build the Basilisk tank included (it's on the hull sprue)

Make sure you haven't glued the extended hull piece to the base of the chimera and have put the correct extended platform part that attaches to the door of the chimera.

If you've glued the basilisk component on, the hull would not fit correctly as it won't be long enough for the entire top hull to fit onto the bottom hull part.

It's the new chimera. There's virtually no instructions in the box and there's none AT ALL on the GW website, god knows why they've taken them down.

This is what's in the box:

Notice the top part has a strait line while the bottom part has an angle...d'oh.

Which part are you talking about? There's nothing on that picture that doesn't look like it fits.

The bottom part, that goes in between the two treads. You can't really see from that angle but it's an L-shape, and the one that goes on top is straight, so it's like this:
_______
-----____
And doesn't fit on top anyway. It's very strange.

i had the same problem, turn the sides around and just fiddle around with it, eventually the bits will fit in together. also file down the sides. When i built mine i realised that my side bits were just upside down, (doh) but eventually it,ll make sense, even though it is a very confusing kit.

mahahaha comics for the comic god!

Post photos of it fitting together. I have a feeling you're just trying to fit it on the wrong spot.

okay it turns out you can just follow the lines on the inside of the tread peices. It could have just said that in the box!
Glad I'm not the only one who was confused, anyway.
