Crossposting from the FOW website:

Each year we would like to offer the players a new opportunity to play in a different style tournament. This year is no different as we have created a 4-man team tournament concept that will test your generalship and ability to assign the right army on the right gaming table using the most appropriate mission. We hope to see you in May and look forward to a great week. Any questions please don't hesitate to post them here or email me at USNationals@battlefront.co.nz. Thanks,

Joe Krone

Tournament: 6 Game, Mid War Format with a twist. (Saturday-Sunday)

Points: 1500 points per player

Team Organization:Each team will consist of 4 players. A team must consist of a minimum of one tank company, one mechanized company, and one infantry company. The remaining company may be of any type. There are no restrictions on the number of Allied or Axis players for each team as long as the team has one tank, mechanized, and infantry company represented.

How play works:
Step 1: Each team will be assigned 6 missions at the beginning of the tournament that they may use each round.

Step 2: Teams will be assigned to play against one another and given 4 tables to play on.

Step 3: Each team will secretly select one company to fight on each table. Each team will also secretly allocate one mission for each table.

Step 4: Once all companies and missions have been secretly determined the teams will reveal their selections.

Step 5: For each table compare the company types using the Mobile Battle rules and determine which player is the attacker. If no attacker can be determined then each player rolls a d6 and the player who rolled higher is the attacker.

Step 6: The attacking player for each table must use the mission they secretly selected.

Step 7: Play the mission

Strategy: Part of the strategy of this tournament is to determine which company will excel at particular missions while maintaining a fog of war. You may know your own available resources and the objective you would like to achieve but that doesn’t necessarily mean you know your enemy or their goals. There will be time allotted to determine which companies and missions will work best with the table designs.

Rules and Regulations for the Team Tournament
• All armies must be fully painted. Any miniatures not fully painted will be pulled from the table prior to starting the tournament.
• Rounds will be determined by overall team game play results and each team will be seeded with an opponent of their caliber. Battle point match-ups are a higher priority than any other form of match-up.

MID WAR
• Please refer to the following list of books, PDFs and website articles for legal armies.
• Eastern Front
• North Africa
• Army lists available on the Flames of War website listed under Official 1942-43. (This does not include any army lists currently ‘Under Review’.)
• Team Army Lists must be submitted no later than Friday, April 13th, 2012. Unit histories are not necessary but we will consider any unit histories as part of your Armies on Parade score. Army lists must be submitted to USNationals@battlefront.co.nz on the generic army list excel spreadsheet located on the Flames of War website and include the following information:
• Player's full name
• Player's email address
• Team Name
• Army list being used (For example: German Schutzenkompanie)
• Book or website reference (For example: Blitzkrieg)
• Type of company (Tank, mechanized, infantry)

Scoring: We will be using an updated version of the Battlefront Tournament software and here is the scoring breakdown we will use for the 2012 Nationals:
• Scoring Breakdown
o Generalship: 70%
o Sporting Play: 20%
• Draw Match-ups Ranking
o Victory Points then Wins
• Generalship Scoring
o Victory Points + Wins (1 additional point for a win will be added to each player’s score)
• Sporting Play Breakdown
o Round-by-Round
o Popular Vote

The winning team will be determined by a combined score of the four team members and then divided by 4. The overall average score of each team will determine the winning team.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.
