reminds me of last night's game when I was playing IG and I scattered my demolisher cannon onto my own chimera, pens, explodes, and kills 7 of the melta vets inside who was controlling an objective and then they quickly get shot to death on turn 7 despite my awesome 5+ crater cover.

Still won the game cause the necrons that were on an objective rolled a 12 for morale and ran off theirs too lololo. (made up for insane courage he had eariler when I still had a psyker battle squad)

How is he taking an astropath without a company command squad?

And where is his platoon command squad? He can't have those heavy weapons squads or the blob of twenty guys without one. There is also only ten guys in a penal legion.

Last bit, how did you manage to pen a Leman Russ Demolisher with a side shot (AV 13) with a str 7 weapon? AKA not possible.

Where is he getting his orders from?

I guess he has a ton to learn. The orders came apparently came from Creed and Yarrick. Also the auto cannons pened because i gave the weapons Psybolt ammo which ups the strength by 1. So it was strength 8.

Fair enough with the psybolt.

But he didn't bring Creed... and Yarrick can't issue orders.

It might just be editing but it looks like the orders are being done out of sequence. All orders must be issued and executed before you do anything else in the shooting phase. Among other things that makes it impossible to give orders after a vehicle has shot. Written army lists would be nice. Others have already said that the spoken description of the Guard army makes no sense.
