Hello everyone, I am looking for some clarification concerning the rules for the basing of models. I've just picked up a selection of the older 2nd edition IG HWT and I was wondering if I have to leave the crew on their 25mm bases, or if I am required to re-base them on the standard 60mm bases in order for them to conform with their modern counterparts for gaming purposes. I know that the rule says "the bases with which the model is supplied" but in this instance I am unsure what to do.

Also, on a slight tangent, what are the rules concerning the modelling of cover on bases. If I do re-base to the 60mm bases I want to model them in heavy weapon's 'nests'. In gaming terms however would this count as cover or not?

Rather minor queries I know but any clarification on either of these matters would be appreciated.

1. RAW, you must use the base the models came with.
However,
1a: The HWT is 1 model now with 2 wounds
1b. Most people won't complain about putting them on the new standard base size.
1c. Tourney's may be different, I don't know.

2. Any terrain placed on a base is ignored for determining LOS. This means you would not get a cover save by building a 'nest' for them to crouch behind.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Excellent thanks for the clarification and the speedy response. I wanted to add the entrenched feel to the HWT but not if it looked like I was trying to garner an unfair advantage with my 'mobile cover'.
