Hey guys.

Here's the question of the day: Can jet pack units who run, still move 6" in assault phase if they do not assault on anyone?

Thank you.

*edit* Forgot to mention that in this case I mean units that does NOT have fleet special rule. As in Tau battle suits.

Running or shooting does not limit your ability to use your special move in the assault phase. In the case of Tau suits, the only restriction is that you can't use your assault move (but you can run) in the turn you deepstrike.

actually I believe Tau can use their assault move after a deepstrike, they just cant use it to actually assault an enemy... Ill have to double check my codex after work though to be sure

@Treavous, I'll make it easy:

Q: Can a unit equipped with jet packs make its normal
move in the assault phase if it arrived by deep strike
that turn? (p52)
A: Yes it can, unless it specifically states otherwise.
Remember that you cannot use this move to launch an
assault on the turn you arrived by deep striking.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Exactly. Tau are prohibited from making the assault move after deepstrike with their suits. Old codex syndrome strikes again!

Except if Mat Ward writes a Tau codex. Then they can shoot from the reserves without entering the board until next turn (or something insane like that).

Thanks to everyone for good answers.
