The whole SOB rumours I didn't really follow, a lot of the threads were locked and apparently went off topic, they got a white dwarf codex after all that hype about having a new codex... I'm still confused as to what happened...

Are the SOB going the way of the Squats or will they receive a redo and a 6th edition codex later on? Will they get new models or is it truly dire straights for our holy girls?

Apparently the plastic sculpts are in the works by Jes Goodwin himself, but aren't quite ready yet for production.

So at the moment, SOB players have to settle for the White Dwarf codex until the plastic sisters are ready for release.

If I do recall correctly, one of the GW designers said they don't ever want to "squat" an army again, and for the Squats they did it only because they thought they did not "fit in" with the setting. Something that certainly doesn't hold true for the SoB, especially after all this time and after having occupied a hard-to-replace niche in the background. Said designer also dispelled rumours that both Squats and Sisters may not have sold well (I actually think this was in response to the very same question @ "squatting SoB").

As per panel comments from one of the last events, it was said that the WD Codex was meant as a "stopgap" and that "Sisters players are not forgotten". Whatever that means. I would not expect a Codex for 6E "already", but let's see what time brings.

No news on any new models or plastics. For what it's worth, I'd be somewhat nervous that they change the style of the army, anyways, were they to redesign the SoB. I'm fond of their current looks, in every detail.

Jes did say he wasn't working on any new models when he was last asked, so I assume that any SoB plastics are either held back, stalled, or that the rumour was simply false.

By all means, their army is powerful, their playstyle unique, and their models are striking. But they need plastics, new models and a nice new codex :(

Regardless of that fact, I quiver to recall the first, last and only encounter I have had with a sisters of battle army. Absolutely terrifying what they can do. I hope they do return as a powerful yet skilful race with cool models, but I'm sure everyone agrees, they need an update.

Here's hoping their grimdark fluff isnt destroyed.

I've heard a rumor that GW's plan is to kill the sisters more organically by neglecting them for a while. That way when they finally go the way of the squats, no one will miss them. On the other hand, if the fans hold on, then they'll eventually get a real codex, support, etc.

Take with much salt, though.

I wouldn't buy that GW will never kill an army ever again. Never is a long time, and if they do that, they are locking themselves into the same factions forever, which will lead to terrible creative glut. No - I think GW will kill an army if they feel they have to, and I think it's entirely possible that they are going to do it to the Sisters.
