Hello,
A warhammer n00b here with a question about Nob Cyborks. I have pretty much the same question that was posed at an older thread
here, but I don't think it was answered satisfactorily (at least for me). AIso, I don't want to be a thread necromancer (even though that
sounds cool). I'm also seeking further clarification. I attempted to search here for my answer and the above thread was the closest I got. Google also did not avail me.
I also checked the most recent
40k FAQs, and they did not answer my question:
40k Rulebook FAQ (pdf)
Ork FAQ (pdf)
So here's the deal. I recently acquired this box of Ork Nobz:
On one sprue are bits for assembling a cybork. My questions are these (the first being the burning one):
1) What exactly are those two close combat weapons? They are pictured here (buzz-saw thing and the harpoon thing):
I can't believe, as suggested in the linked thread, that they are Power weapons (but I'd like to). My guess is that they are basically cyborky looking Choppas. According to
the description for this box on the
GW website, these weapons (along with two roboty heads) are
parts to upgrade your Nobz with Cybork bodies. Not a lot of help there.
2) Is a cybork, apart from any differences in the above weaponry, basically a Nob, with a 5+ save (as per the Orks Codex, p91)? I could find no other references to Cyborks in the codex.
3) Why does it say in the aforelinked description that
With this box set you can make... and then list
Painboy (along with
Nob), whereas I thought they would list
Cybork? Is a Cybork not a stand-alone model with separate stats then? What have I got?!
In general, what does one do when a weapon/item is encountered on a sprue/model that is not listed on the box/literature, and is not in the Rulebook or corresponding Codex (I have other weapons I'm not going to get into here)? Is it basically a matter of closely examining the item and making an educated guess, or is there some secret website somewhere with pictures and descriptions of everything? Like I said, I'm new and I don't know my grotnik from a hole in the ground.
TIA!
