Here is a list of questions. Please restrict your votes to 10 of the questions at the most. I am sending the top 10 to GW along with my FAQ very soon, and I would like to know which dakka thinks are more important for the general community. Thank you for your help.

EDIT: Question 2 should read, "crypteks with a veil of darkness," rather than "crypteks."

I always figured the rules indicate mindshackle scarabs would use the victims special weapons rules, but never had the chance to use force weapons. Well, actually, I did get a Sanguinary Priest to use his force weapon, but all the victims only had one wound anyway so the issue was never thought about. Still the thought that one could roll double-ones to insta-kill a multi-wound model, and then suffer perils of the warp!

My answers to as many of the questions as I know answers to.

Can crypteks with VOD in a deathmark unit use Ethereal Interception? 4% [ 2 ]

Per the BRB - Only if they can deep strike. I don't think they can deep strike, since it doesn't say they or the unit they are with can be held in deep strike reserves.

What happens when a Triarch Stalker twin-links a Death Ray? 2% [ 1 ]

Per the BRB - For weapons that auto-hit, don't you re-roll the to wound rolls?

Can non-standard shooting attacks such as the death ray affect units in combat? 4% [ 2 ]

Per the BRB - Yes. Just like a blast template, you can't intentionally target that unit, but if the random dice puts the line over a model that is locked in combat, it takes a hit too. (I take this to mean the unit locked in combat can't be the first thing your line hits starting from your start point and going out the random dice roll).

If a Night Scythe moves flat out and is immobilized by terrain, is the unit inside returned to reserves? 2% [ 1 ]

Per the codex - If the vehicle is destroyed, the unit inside is sent to reserves.

Can symbiotic repair "save" a catacomb command barge that was immobilized by difficult terrain after moving flat-out? 4% [ 2 ]

Per the codex - Yes, as long as this is not the character's last wound.

Can the ghost ark revive royal court models attached to warrior squads? What about warriors from Royal Court members who were previously attached to a warrior squad? 2% [ 1 ]

Per the codex - The ghost ark only revive warriors. Not sure about the second question, I'll have to study that better.

Can lightning strikes hit units in vehicles? 0% [ 0 ]

Per the BRB - Nope, just the vehicle, similar to shooting.

If obryon and zandrekh are in the same unit, can they choose to deep strike anywhere on the table without scattering? 4% [ 2 ]

Per the codex - No, Neither is on the table when the scatter is measured. Zandrekh's ability relies on Obryon being on the table.

How does Mind in the Machine interact with squadrons? 2% [ 1 ]

Per the codex - One vehicle is affected.

Can Anrakyr use Mind in the Machine while embarked on a Catacomb Command Barge? 10% [ 5 ]

Per the BRB FAQ - Nope.

How doe multiple instances of mindshackle scarabs work, especially when the same model could be affected by them multiple times? 2% [ 1 ]

Roll for each one separately, apply the results. Any models that are affected by mindshackle scarabs can't attack normally.

Do wounds inflicted as a result of mindshackle scarabs count towards combat resolutiion? If so, whose side counts as inflicting the wounds? 2% [ 1 ]

Yes, the wounds count against the side receiving the wounds.

Can mindshackle scarabs gain bonus attacks from game rules, special abilities, or wargear? 0% [ 0 ]

Per the codex - No, they do 1d3 wounds, no matter how many attacks the model would normally be capable of doing.

How are two necron players' solar pulses used, assuming both players have them in their list? 4% [ 2 ]

Both players can choose to use a solar pulse at the beginning of any player turn at it is instantaneous/simultaneous, so they do exactly the same thing whether it is 1 or more that are used. (The second one gets the same result as the first, so it's wasted) Solar pulse only affects one player's turn, so they are no longer in effect on the next players turn. If night-fighting is in effect at the beginning of a players turn and one or more solar pulses are used at the beginning of that players turn it turns off night fighting until the end of the current player turn. If night fighting rules are not in effect and one or more solar pulses are used, it turns on night fighting until the end of the current player turn.

Can solar pulses be used while off the table? 2% [ 1 ]

Per the BRB - No, must be on the table to use your ability.

Which comes first in the turn, Lord of the storm, or Solar Pulse? 0% [ 0 ]

Per the FAQ - Solar pulse. If a solar pulse is used at the beginning of a player turn, lord of the storm lightning does not activate.

Do voltaic staves trigger haywire AND hit at strength 5 against vehicles? 0% [ 0 ]

No, it does not double hit for every successful hit. It is Str 5 against non-vehicles but their hits are special so they glance on a 2-5 and pen on a 6, no matter what the armor.

Do lightning fields count towards combat resolution? 4% [ 2 ]

Yes.

Are royal court members assigned to a troops squad considered scoring? What if all of the normal troops are killed? 10% [ 5 ]

Per the BRB - Yes. They are considered upgrade characters, like sergeants.

Can a nightmare shroud target a different unit than the one targeted by its own unit for normal shooting attacks? 0% [ 0 ]

Yes, it's not a shooting or psychic shooting attack.

My 2 cents.
Does sweeping advance disallow models with EL to make RP rolls?

If the EL model is caught in the SA with the unit, no, as the model is not RaaC. If the EL model is removed due cc attacks at Initiative "X", that needs clarification.
Can crypteks in a deathmark unit use Ethereal Interception?

If Ethereal Interception uses DS rules, then no as Crypteks do not have DS.
Can the ghost ark revive royal court models attached to warrior squads? What about warriors from Royal Court members who were previously attached to a warrior squad?

Part 1, no. Part 2, yes (the RC member is still a Warrior unit)
How does cover work with the lightning strikes from Lord of the Storm?

Only cover that is not reliant on LOS. In other words if you are in cover granting terrain, or special rules/wargear that give cover saves (KFF, turbo-boosting, flat-out, etc.)
Can Anrakyr use Mind in the Machine while embarked on a Catacomb Command Barge?

As MitM is a non-shooting ability relying on LOS, while embarked it cannot be used. (FAQ)
Do wounds inflicted as a result of mindshackle scarabs count towards combat resolutiion? If so, whose side counts as inflicting the wounds?

As they happen during normal cc, they would count for combat resolution. They would count as wounds suffered, not wounds dealt (if that makes since, for example in 'Cron vs 'Nids, they count as wounds dealt by 'Crons)
Can mindshackle scarabs dictate the use of force weapons?

Force weapons only do ID on a successful psychic test by the model using them. Unless specified, you never get to force your opponent to make a psychic test.
Does the abyssal staff use majority leadership to determine the toughness of the targeted unit?

Abyssal Staff replaces "Toughness" with "Leadership" for all purposes dealing with wounding.
Are royal court members assigned to a troops squad considered scoring? What if all of the normal troops are killed?

The RC member is an upgrade character for the unit (similar to a sergeant). As such, they count as scoring, even if they are the last model in the unit.
How do royal courts give up kill points?

If the RC is destroyed (the members not sent to lead a unit), is 1 KP. Any RC member that joins a unit, is an UC, and as such the unit only gives 1 KP, when it is completely destroyed.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Each of these questions is either genuinely unclear or isn't intuitive to the majority of 40k players. That's why I've compiled them. Each of these issues has, imo, a greater impact on the game than the rest in my FAQ. This is meant to provide GW with a bare-minimum list of 10 recommendations for their FAQ.

Each of these questions is "iffy." That's why they are here. That, and the fact that each of them can decide games/list archetypes. I am not asking these questions (trust me, I am very familiar with the possible answers). I am more interested in those questions people believe are more important to ask and/or have a bigger impact on the game.

Kizz, I've edited my post to clarify a few things, and removed that whole "iffy" comment.

Per the BRB - Only if they can deep strike. I don't think they can deep strike, since it doesn't say they or the unit they are with can be held in deep strike reserves.
With a veil of darkness they can.

Can symbiotic repair "save" a catacomb command barge that was immobilized by difficult terrain after moving flat-out? 4% [ 2 ]

Per the codex - Yes, as long as this is not the character's last wound.
I disagree since the result of immobilized is immediately moved to destroyed - wrecked, so it has not suffered an immobilized result. Otherwise by your comment you could take symbiotic repair on a roll of 4 on a shooting attack even though it then becomes a five. Or that you could take living metal rolls on a 2 even though they then become a 3.

Can the ghost ark revive royal court models attached to warrior squads? What about warriors from Royal Court members who were previously attached to a warrior squad? 2% [ 1 ]

Per the codex - The ghost ark only revive warriors. Not sure about the second question, I'll have to study that better.
The warrior squad still exists if the RC member is alive, so the ark can add 1d3 to warriors to the unit.

If obryon and zandrekh are in the same unit, can they choose to deep strike anywhere on the table without scattering? 4% [ 2 ]

Per the codex - No, Neither is on the table when the scatter is measured. Zandrekh's ability relies on Obryon being on the table.
I agree with this and the rule states only if obryon deepstrikes within 6" of zandrekh implying that zandrekh must be on the board to begin with.

Do wounds inflicted as a result of mindshackle scarabs count towards combat resolutiion? If so, whose side counts as inflicting the wounds? 2% [ 1 ]

Yes, the wounds count against the side receiving the wounds.
I'd have to check the book but they seem to be pretty good about saying whether or not odd things like this count towards resolution.

Which comes first in the turn, Lord of the storm, or Solar Pulse? 0% [ 0 ]

Per the FAQ - Solar pulse. If a solar pulse is used at the beginning of a player turn, lord of the storm lightning does not activate.
This really doesn't matter because the roll for Lord of the Storm is only to see if night fighting continues. If you plan to use the solar pulse you'll lose the lightning anyway. You're best off rolling for Lord of the Storm instead of not rolling that way you can attempt to the roll on the next turn. If you opt to not roll simply because you plan to use the solar pulse, you're losing out on Lord of the Storm for the rest of the game. So you're best off making the LotS roll before the solar pulse.

Do lightning fields count towards combat resolution? 4% [ 2 ]

Yes.
As above, I think it says if it does or not. If it doesn't though, I wouldn't think it would count since the hits are conducted during the assault move before any pile in moves or defenders react moves.
