Hi all

Just dug out some of my old ( and I mean OLD!) minis and discovered the makings of an interesting Squat army...

I see from a search that some are using the IG lists for these... Does anyone know of a pirate, mercenary or similar list? Nim sure I used to have one in an old WD way back in the 80s but no idea where it is and hopelessly outdated now anyway.

Been ex-40K for a very long time sonot really clued up on this tbh

I always thought that Ork vehicles fit the human pirate/raider theme with how bad they are. Same with some of their weapons, the fact they are mobs rather than organized/regimented troop squads. The only thing that doesn't fit is Furious Charge, and even then... Some of the old school stories (Master and Commander and the like) could give you the fluff you need to make use of some of the Ork rules without it being weird.

But that's like, age of sail styled pirates. Modern day / all the futuristic pirates I know of tend to be different beasts.

I think he's asking more Stumpy than Orky. Might check out Runna's Dwellar Codex- it's just a fan-dex, but it's pretty tightly put together, with some interesting fluff.

Or, see what you could cobble together from the Tau, as the Demiurgs are supposedly Squats for the Greater Good.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

If yer an Ork, why dont ya WAAAGH!!

you could base it off the two official squat lists... one in armorcast inquisitor magazine #15 i believe... the other is from the 2e starter set and it's a total of 1 1/2 pages.

the hearthguard work like wolfguard, their normal troops are 5 man squads that can take 4 heavies (or assault squads w/ CC weapons), mole mortars, thudd guns, IG gear (5+ save, lasguns)... they get terminators and bikes though (and bike terminators!), and they use rhinos/land raiders as needed (I'd assume chimeras and razorbacks may also be present).
