Hey guys, I'm looking for your thoughts on the following army:
HQ: Reclusiarch, Jump Pack - 155pt
Elites: 5x Sanguinary Priests, Jump Packs - 375pts (3 SP per elite slot, so this is two elite slots)
Troops:
1x 10man Assault Squad, Sgt: TH; 2x Melta - 240pts
2x 10man Assault Squad, Sgt: PF; 2xMelta - 235pts
1x 10man Assault Squad, Sgt: PF; 2xFlamers - 225pts
1x 10man Assault Squad; Sgt PF; 1xMelta, 1xFlamer - 230pts
This leaves 55 pts for combi flamers/melta or whatever (suggestions?)
If you hadn't guessed, this is DoA, 1 Sanguinary Priest per squad, Reclusiarch in the squad that I drop in on something that has to die.
I plan on combat squadding one or two of the 10mans into 5man squads with prudent distrubution of special weapons for objective capture.
What are your thoughts? This is spammy, but I want something that's easier to play since I am a newer player.

looks good.
Something you might want to consider(if you get bored of all infantry list) would be to include some furioso dreadnoughts in drop pods (either if you go to 2k points, or drop one assault squad for a couple of dreads)
Be wary about combat squads though as each combat squads becomes one kill point, if you ware playing anihilation, you'll want to not do it.

Maybe I misunderstand how Sanguinary priests are supposed to work. They're independant characters, so they either run around by themselves, or attach to a unit, they aren't a unit themselves. So if I had 5 of them, which take up two elite slots, since I can take up to 3 sanguinary priests per elite slot, I could attach one priest to each of the assault squads, right?

they are IC, however, when you write your list, 1-3 SG can take up to one elite slot, up to the max of elite slots you have.
When deployed, they count as ICs and each and everyone of the SGs are kill poinst. They are deployed as ICs, so they can be deployed with your ASM squads.
Basically, to prevent confusion on players that don,t know BAs, you should write your list like that
ELITE
Sang priest x 3 (jumpack x 3)
sang priest x 2 (Jumpack x 2)
Just to clarify that they take up two slots.

I think 5 priests are a little over kill. If you keep them out of the squads but close to them, they can be trageted in cc and stay safe. You might have a problem with death-star cc units. ASM are good in CC, but they aren't great. MC will tie you up too, allowing other units to assault you.

MCs will get crushed by the ASMs I think specially with the meltas that will go trhough their usual 3+ or 2+ save. Deamons MC might be a bigger problem though as they have invuls. And, though ASm aren't that great, with FNP, they become a pain to kill without power weapons.

This. Its a 6" bubble. One Sanguinary Priest per pair of Assault Squads is sufficient. 2-3 will probably work fine for your list.
Also, if you aren't taking Death Company you may find a Librarian more useful overall than a Reclusiarch.
Are you doing DoA or just deploying on the table at the start or both? If pure DoA, get one or two Vanguard Veterans in there. Keep them cheap. The only thing they are there for is to drop down and tie something up in close combat so they can't charge your Assault squads. They only need to live a Game Turn, and if they are in 6" of a Priest they probably will.

I would swap the Reclusiarch for a Librarian with jump pack saving you on points. Drop the TH assualt squad, switch the powerfists, for power weapons in the flamer assualt squads, these are your anti-infantry units and you want them attacking first. Drop to two priests, and include a honor guard with 3-4 meltas, this way you get a third priest for free. I'm just brain storming all this without a book so you'd have to check points wise.
HQ
Librarian - Jump pack, rage and sheild, - 125
Librarian - Jump pack, rage and sheild - 125
Honour Guard - Jump Packs, 3 x Melta gun, Blood Champion - 225
Troops
Assualt Squad ten marines - power fist, melta, melta. 235
Assualt Squad ten marines - powerfist, melta, melta. 235
Assualt Squad ten marines - powerfist, melta, melta.235
Assualt Squad ten marines - powerweapon, flamer, flamer 215
Scout Squad - Heavy bolter, camo cloaks.100
Elites
Sanguinary Priest x 2 jump packs - 150
Fast attack
Vanguard vets 5 marines - jump packs,
2 x powersword, - 195
Heavy Support
Devastator Squads 3x Missile Launchers, Lascannon and powerfist sgt. 170
Total - 2000
Here is my list at 2000 points, if you dropped the scouts and the dev squad, also since writing this list I have found the Blood Champion in the Honour guard isn't worth the points, so drop them and you will have below 1750, maybe enough to put a scout squad back in as a objective holder.

It's a good list, the only change I would make to the above is the PF on the Dev's. That would be better spent on the vets, that way if you face a mech army or a MC they have a better chance of taking it down.

My list has been refined a fair bit since I posted this, it was just dug out from an old post to give OP a good template to go off.
