Hello all,

As the subject implies, I was curious which VC units make good hammers. One thing I've noticed in many of the VC lists is people saying that said list doesn't have enough punching power. Is this a function of the list chosen or the army itself?

I could be wrong but VC doesn't seem to build like other lists...VC seems more of a "Ya, you're gonna kill us, maybe a lot of us, but we'll wear you down over time, and you die but we might come back". It seems to have a lot of grinding, anvilly options compared to other lists, and very few "good" hammer units in comparison.

Am I wrong? If I'm right, can you win with VC using anvil-based tactics and let the enemy grind themselves against you but slowly wear down? I know the hammer thing is really sexy right now but I'm wondering if it's the only way...

VC can make hammer stuff with lords, heroes, rares, etc just not troops. Blood Knights, Black Knights with wight king, or vampire, varghulf, terrorgheist, crypt horrors, varghiests, grave guard, etc can all hammer opponents. But you can play a grind game as well.

The enemy of my enemy is a bastard so lets kill him too.

You're not wrong, it's What Vampire Counts Do.

As Draigo said, you make hammer units by putting lords and heroes in them, but a few of the units are better at being hammers than others.
