I have always thought of them as something similar to the Lycans in Underworld but a tad more human and alot more bulky. Today however, I went to see the new Underworld at the movies and there is one MASSIVE Lycan in it and the first thing that sprung into my mind was "FETHING HELL that is exactly what I would imagine a SW with the mark of the wulfen to look like!". For those of you who havnt seen it or seen underworld (what the hell are you doing with your life? Go watch it, now! What are you waiting for? Stop reading and go watch it. Seriously.) it is kinda hard to explain but they fit my idea of the wulfen almost perfectly and the giant muscular behemoth in the new movie look just like I have always imagined them, only with power armour ofcourse.

What do you guys think?

What do you guys use as a mental reference when picturing a Wulfen brother?

As much as I love Warhammer 40000 and all of it's awesomeness and grim darkness - I must here say Clone Commandos would won the day.

I have seen the models for the Wulfen before but I was more curious as to what pops into peoples minds when they try to imagine them. Is it a copy of the model or is it something more (or less) savage and feral?

When a Space Marine is supposed is said to have the Mark during a game I imagine him as looking like a normal Space Wolf, just going berserk and fighting unarmed (or with whatever comes to hand). Maybe hairier, with longer teeth and claws. As for the ones who have mutated to the point that they look like giant wolf-men , I imagined that they'd only get to look like that by changing over the course of several years.

Driven away from WH40K by rules bloat and the expense of keeping up, now interested in smaller model count games and anything with nifty mechanics.

Like ape-men.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

According to the previous codex the Mark simply marks them out as warriors who tend to lose control during combat.
They may or may not transform, it depends from person to person.
The actual mark is probably more like a tatoo or some kind of war paint...

My MotW models have two CCW and a big red X over their company marking.

I just use wulfen models so for appearance and people can easily identify em in game.

The enemy of my enemy is a bastard so lets kill him too.

Those are OOP and pretty spendy on the third party market, IIRC though.

Spoiler:

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.

If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

Like this. Honestly the WoW Worgen profile fits, Humanoid wolf-people.

Seems appropriately badass.

"The Imperium is nothing if not willing to go to any lengths necessary. So the Trekkies are zipping around at warp speed taking small chucks out of an nigh-on infinite amount of ships, with the Imperium being unable to strike back. feth it, says central command, and detonates every vortex warhead in the fleet, plunging the entire sector into the Warp. Enjoy tentacle-rape, Kirk, we know Sulu will." -Terminus

"This great fortress was a gift to the Blood Ravens from the legendary Imperial Fists. When asked about it Chapter Master Pugh was reported to say: "THEY TOOK WHAT!?""

Except they aren't humanoid wolf people...
The 13th Company models are good because:
A) They look awesome
B) They stand out

The Mark shows that they are more prone to losing control and going beserk in the middle of battle.
It can be a tattoo or just war paint...

Okay, let me rephrase my question as I may have misunderstood how the mark works.

What would a Transformed wulfen/13th company wulfen look like? I have seen a whole bunch of pictures with wolflike creatures in power armour and was just curious as to what peoples mental pictures of the wulfen were.
