From fluff we know that souls and Warp have very tight connection. I am more interested before 4 Chaos Gods came where did the Human and Eldar souls go?
And what about Ork souls? Do they exist in a Warp as Gork and Mork?
Most importantly, do Chaos Gods lay claim to EVERY soul that enters the Warp after death or they also must battle to claim them?

AFAIK the Chaos Gods were around before humanity...
As for Eldar... their gods got them i guess...
As of now the theory is that Human souls go to the Emperor or he fights for them or something like that...
Other souls... who knows...
Orks probably go towards Gork and Mork.

eldar used to go to there gods until the did something killing all there gods apart from the laughing god and khane. all there souls go to Tzeentch because he was created by the eldar when there gods died... thus why they wear soul stones to keep there souls from getting devoured by him...

As I understand it, religion have a lot to do with that.
Imperial souls goes toward the Emperor because people pray to him in real life and as a result they are connected with him in Warp and when they die their soul goes to the Emperor ( at least that is how I understand it ).
I am more interested in Tyranid, Tau and Ork souls.
Tau are atheists, Tyranids don't have their own tough and Orks are Orks...

Spoiler:
In the end of Imperial Glory, all the troops of the dead regiment can be seen marching "Into the Emperors light" by their dead commanding officer, it's rather touching really.

So the Trekkies are zipping around at warp speed taking small chucks out of an nigh-on infinite amount of ships, with the Imperium being unable to strike back. feth it, says central command, and detonates every vortex warhead in the fleet, plunging the entire sector into the Warp. Enjoy tentacle-rape, Kirk, we know Sulu will." -Terminus

Beat me to it. On a side note, I thought the end of Imperial Glory was one of the best endings I've read, with more closure than any other novel.

The Eldar souls before the fall used to go into the warp and then be reincarnated. The story behind the swooping hawks is that if an Eldar were murdered they'd be reincarnated as a hawk that would follow the murderer.
Not sure on the orks and tyranids but maybe nothing happens for the tyranids (lesser especially) as without the hive mind most of them seem to revert to wild animal behaviour.
I don't know if the tiny snippets of pre-programmed data the Hive Mind injects into its lesser creautures' nervous systems qualify as a 'soul'. The Hive Mind itself, be it in the Warp or not, is the Tyranids collective soul, to all effects.
Orks are a different issue, as they are a religious folk and have a vast presence in the warp. I don't recall any mentions of an afterlife in ork fluff, but I think it's safe to assume their souls join Gork and Mork in the infinite 'ead krumpin' grounds out there.
Like with all things Tau, as of M41.999 their warp-thingies are pretty much in the making. Check back in M51.999, that Greater Good stuff might have actually coalesced into something great and good.
War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

You mentioned the Tau in a Brother Coa thread..........

I actually don't know what to make of the Tau so I made that up just to stir the debate. I know. I'm a bad person.
Still, I think it's possible that the Tau get their own "gods" in the warp some day. They have souls (albeit dull and not tasty enough for the Four Ruinous Gourmands) and a cause they naïvely, foolishly and desperately cling to. In time, and according to the general rules of the 40k universe, that may end up producing a patron god for the tau race.
Now, considering GW's attitude towards future events, we won't be seeing it happen. Ever. But it's fun to think about, isn't it?

Considering it took the entire Eldar race (Who had an empire bigger than humanities) to create 1 i highly doubt the Tau could create one even if it were possible.
Chaos gods are beings of emotion.
Eldar excess and their high emotional state combined with the fact all of them are/were latent psykers meant they were the perfect race for it...
Tau on the other hand are largely controlled emotionally and have little (if any) trace of pykery...

What I want to do to people who start Tau hate fights.

For the nids, I imagine that the hive mind takes there souls and gives them out to new creatures, but a better question to ask is do animals have souls?
For the tau. Just because you don't believe in gods, dosen't mean that they won't eat your soul. Maybe with some cheese on top. The idea of a GG warp presence is a possibility. Maybe somewhere down the line, but limited numbers and small warp presence makes it hard. That might be the long term goal of the aun though. Convert enough people to the GG and get supper powers... Crazy idea.
Orks. I'm like 90% sure that there souls are fought and traded for by gork or mork then used as pawns in there epic battle.

Yet Slaanesh isn't the only Eldar god. They had scores of them before the darker, formerly repressed side of their psyche popped out in the warp, killing their pantheon and claiming the Eldar race for him/her/itself. But yes, lack of psykers and tight societal control keeps the Tau cut off from the warp. Spawning a deity is not that hard in the 40k universe, but the Tau of all races (bar the Necrons, of course), seem to be well guarded against it.
Alexzandvar, I don't see what's wrong in discussing the Tau as long as the conversation's kept civil. It's hard, I know, as they still raise many questions that don't have proper answers within the fluff forcing us fans to resort to speculation, which in turn often degenerates into "because-I-said-so's", appeals to authority, flame wars and name-calling. Still, I'd rather take the risk and discuss the Tau from time to time than ignoring them entirely. Usually, the few first posts before hell breaks loose manage to be both enlightening and entertaining.
War does not determine who is right - only who is left.
and maybe the Kroot might have some almighty god the tau could start to worship?

Tyranid, in all likelihood, don't have souls. They're... not really sentient, they're.... basically an animal. They exhibit nothing akin to worship or devotion above any insect race's defense of their queen/nest/whatever. They have no civilization, no culture, no... anything, really.
Tau seem to lack the Warp presence to need or require gods. They're also space-commies, which means they're an atheist society. If there *is* a Tau god, it's going to be one of the Gods of Law from Warhammer Fantasy.
It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.
