Hello everyone
I am in terrain-building mode at the moment and will use this thread to share images of completed terrain for FoW.
I wrote earlier about my medieval gate tower, so I won't repeat that :-)
My newest piece of terrain is a town hall to fit inside the city walls. Just like the tower, it is an underscale HO kit that fits really well to the rather large FoW miniatures.
I wrote about it on my blog, with lots of images from the construction:

More is on the way...

Excellent work. Does the terrain come pre-painted?

Stunning, this would be fabulous to fight over as very late war Western front, or late War Eastern Front. You've captured that Germanic craftsman style.

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest! |

Do you find that all of Kibri's HO scale buildings are suitable for FoW?
Do you have a list of manufacturers that you feel scale well with it?
I have a few HO scale building I use for WH40K... but they seem way to big for Flames....

He did write it is underscale HO. So I'm guessing there is tremendous variation in HO manufacturers.

Well when it comes to RR models.. there are also variables such as narrow guage etc even in the HO scale....
That is why it is so difficult to find products that scale to FoW..
The only true RR scale that works 100% is TT Scale... And that is rare as hell.

Thanks :-)
The building kit comes in coloured plastic, but looks very plasticky and needs to be weathered. On my blog are images of the walls before painting.
The question of scale in FoW is an interesting one. Since the figures are 1:100 scale it would seem to make most sense to have buildings in the same scale. But since the game rules use a selective compression to fit everything on a normal table, it would make sense to use a smaller scale, the larger the building. I have chosen to use a scale of as close as possible to 1:100 on all buildings, meaning that lots of older model railroad kits labeled as HO fits very well. TT scale kits are too small in my opinion as they are in 1:120 scale, but YMMV.
The idea of a HO model railroad kit or wagon being in exact 1:87 scale is rather new, like 10-15 years, so lots of older kits fit very well. Since the figures in FoW both have an individual base of about 2 mm and a shared base of another 2 mm, even 1:87 buildings seems to scale more or less with the infantry, although not with the vehicles.
For my own gaming table I am going to use especially older Kibri and Faller kits. Faller has been around for a looong time and their very old kits are more like TT scale than HO, so there is plenty of potential. I am building a lot these days, and hope to show most of it on my blog and in here for inspiration.

Occam, your Kibri kits so far look awesome! Can't wait to see them all together in-game.
