Hi,
I normally play Blood Angels and am in the process of building an Elysian Drop Troop themed army (the 144th Coy, the Solar Lions) and, though I've been advised against it I quite fancy taking a mortar section as my ONLY heavy weapons choice. Now, as the 144th are an assault focussed army, when I move my platoon HQ and squads do I have to move my heavy weapons as well or can they act independently of the platoon i.e. the platoon HQ and infantry squads move forwards, fire their assault weapons prior to assaulting meanwhile the heavy weapons squad engage another enemy unit?

They are all separate units, meaning they all act independently.
