Hey guys I was thinking as well as my blue tiger chapter I had an idea about making a grey knight succesor chapter called the knights templar.
white amour,
Red trim,
gold icons,
Battle cry: burn the heritic.

Ehm you know the Grey Knights just doesn't have successor-chapters? Except the guys that let demons possess them.

I know about black templars but I want to make a chapter using grey knight parts because I like the look of there amour. Beaviz81 I did not know that can anybody shed some light on the subject.

Spiritual successor in the idea of fighting daemons but not actual successors...

NO!!! Not a chance. The grey ceramite is part of the reason for their purity. Just paint it grey, and rejoice.

It wouldn't be possible.
They could do it but it hasn't been done which means doing it instantly makes it Mary Sue... which is bad...

GK companies (Technically called Brotherhoods) have their own heraldry rather than colour scheme but you could write fluff for it...

I actually think it would look better if I use grey for there amour and red trim.
Sounds more sensible to me if there a grey knight company.

what's the fixation with 'knights templar'?

Well I was doing some research on them for a project and everything I looked at pretty much said that they had some relic some say it is the holy grail, others say it is the ark of the covenant and some say it was the philosopher's stone. I thought this was interesting and I thought what if some grey knights had a relic important to the imperium. Also the fact that the knights templar were warrior monks.

Well the GK probably do...
Though that isn't really their asthetic anymore...
They have become... darker?
Thier new codex presents them as warriors of the emperor willing to kill anything and anyone that jeopardises the Imperium.

The knights templar were dark too.
The pope made them able to break all local laws.
They pressured a king into building jacobs ford (fortress on there border with the muslims.)
They were said to be practising witch craft and black magic.
There is also a story about crusaders charging into a city and killing men, women and children.

I still don't see it...
But if you think it fits go for it...
We'll see what happens.
