My very own WAAGGH!! I posted 2 nobz a while back and they're all I got around to doing.

This clan is known as the Red Jawz. A vicious ork warband who regularly harvests the supplies and units of the Imperium and other Xenos. Thinking about working some "Hooman Boyz" into it with some Catachans captured as Slaves or gone mad under surveillance of the Orks and become a part of the clan?

Finishing the last nob, then I have a warboss, 20 boyz and 3 choppers to do. With some stormboyz I need some bitz for as well.

These guys are looking pretty good, though I suggest you try and get the skin darker, or the clothes darker. Right now there's little contrast between the two, and that makes it somewhat difficult to really pick out the details.

there used to be a unit entry for Human mercenary bands in the oop book titled Freebooterz. Basically, the background was that they were humans that come from a piece of space that is controlled by Orks, and worship them as Gods because of their ability to be shot to bits and live. If they prove their ferocity in combat or their toughness to the warboss, they're in the WAAAGH!

You could also try to look up the book Digganob, part of the Gorkamorka supplement. That actually features Humans that dress up like the Orks because they want to prove their toughness.

My personal suggestion when tackling Humie Orks is to try and use Oop Metal catachans, with Gs'd details such as necklaces with teeth, small bones, and ears as trophies. You know, really simple stuff. Like, a gas mask with goggles for the flamethrower armed catachan and such. Their vehicles would obviously be looted chimeras and such.

If I had a dollar for every dollar I spent I'd have all my money back.

The flash on my camera makes the skin/clothes make them seem really bright. They seem to blend well in person although I get what you mean about the details.

And ah, that is amazing! I guess this is more a painting/scenic project than gaming. I love making the scenic bases like you'd see in the Golden Demon, and making up fluff with the models. So I can be a bit more free with it all. But I was definitely going to use Catachans as they're quite the obvious choice to use for Orks. When I finish this batch off, I'm looking at some conversions of IG and Airfix models for Ork Wagons etc.

Personally I like the colours you've used. Theses guys have a nice natural look to them. Nice use of facial tattoos too. I think that's something that a lot of people (myself included) don't bother to use in their Ork paint jobs, but is a pretty cool part of their fluff that makes for some interesting models.

Thanks! I figured the tattoos were a whole significant part of their fluff of the clan it's just hard not to over-do the tatoos and getting the right measurement/positiong is tricky as in the pic I uploaded of the trio, the one now has a chinstrap-esque red tattoo but it feels too much.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
