Elite Tyranid Warrior

Hi all,
I've been out of the hobby for about 6 moths now but have decdided to get back into it now. I've decided the best way for me to do so is to start fresh and so I'm clearing out and selling a load of stuff so that I can fund my new army.
I really like the pre-heresy Thousand Sons, however I also like daemons a lot. So, I was thinking of doing a Thousand Sons army during the heresy so that I could have the cool pre-heresy marines fighting alongside the daemons.
I should point out here: I don't care about rules in the actual game at the moment, or what should count as what, or what codex to use as I'm not gonna actually be playing for a long time yet. I'm just wondering whether there would be any major problems with this fluff-wise?
Also, as this army is just to look good at the moment I'm concentrating on larger daemons so if you have any ideas for cool conversions or any daemons or characters from books that could fit in this army; feel free to tell me about them.
Thanks.

I can't say for sure, but they got into a fight with space wolves during the heresy IIRC. That's about all I know about them in that time. The lastest armour type at the time was mk VI, the "beakie" variant, though this was brand new and wasn't used largely until afterwards.

greenskin lynn: because of all the skittles and soda, you basically live off sugar water, like some sort of freakish human-hummingbird hybrid. |

The pre heresy Thousand Sons weren't around much after the burning of Prospero. After they fled into the warp they may have used some daemons along the way but prior to that, the only reason they were in trouble was for the overuse of psyched abilities, not so much flat out Tzeentch worship.

So, in fluff, the only people they fought around that time were space wolves AFAIK.

They were at the battle of Terra so they would have fought alongside Daemons at this time.

Are you sure they were at Terra? I wasn't aware of that, but it's definitely possible

They definitely were, Collected Visions explicitly states as much.

According to his source and Lexicanum the Sons were at Terra, though I think that information is old and it is possible that will change once the novels get to that point.

Aurelian makes it pretty clear that Horus wants the Sons to be part of the campaign for Terra.

You should read 'A Thousand Sons' and 'Prospero Burns'. They pretty much give you the entire background of the Thousand Sons leading up to the Heresy. The HH books haven't got around to the invasion of Terra yet.
You could make daemons that could potentially be the manifestations of the Thousand Sons' tutelaries.
