well in my search for an unconventional army liste ive decided to try a little somthing different. at first galnce nothing special but the mid game arrival of greater daemons and lesser daemons brings some tactical choices that have the ability to surprise.

daemon prince of nurgle wings warptime
daemon prince of slaanesh wings lash of submission
summoned greater daemon

dreadnought T.L. lascannons
dreadnought T.L. lascannons
dreadnought plasma cannon

defiler
defiler
defiler

chaos space marinesx5 champion meltagun rhino personal icon
chaos space marinesx5 champion meltagun rhino personal icon
chaos space marinesx5 champion meltagun rhino personal icon

summoned lesser daemons x 13
summoned lesser daemons x 13

Ok so some of you may say......"lesser daemons?!" REALLY! the 5+ invuln and 3 attacks on the charge are very good against thunderhammer stormshield terminators.......which the rest of the army is not. and you may say "good against termies?!" for 169 pts.....yep. dont forget that these little nasties deploy within 6" of an icon then formaround as if deepstriking. so with a base size of 1" and a unit size of 13 they have a threat range of 15" from a rhino the turn they come in. use em to assault all the crap you dont wana touch or waste time with the big stuff. Well dakka what do you think?

First off your over points. You can't have personal icons on vanilla CSMs, so at the very least you would have to take Icons of Chaos Glory, Which really is kind of a waste. Thjs isn't a terrible list, but it isn't great either. A truly shooty list will annihilate this list, before any of those stompy walkers or summoned daemons even get down field. Run another kind of marine. Any of the other ones have fearless, well worth their points. Also if you run Plague Marines, you can sport 2 special weapons in a five man squad, one of them can even be a Plague Champion. I suggest you burn the Dread with the PC, because he risks shooting his own units anyway, and on top of that it could scatter, and on top of that it could get hot. Totally not worth it. Possibly consider burning a defiler as well, and use all of those points to upgrade those vanilla marines into something more substantial, and buy a few more SLDs to boot.
Anyway Chaos is awesome. Have fun.

Actually:

A) The FAQ has clarified (finally) that you draw LOS for the Fire Frenzy based on the vehicle's weapon's arcs, making it really easy to avoid shooting yourself.
B) Vehicles do not have to roll for Gets Hot! thanks to their advanced cooling systems.

Do you know of the FAQ that nerfed Warp Time?

The rest looks fun.

The way it used to work (or rather, was considered to work) was that if you pass the Psychic test for Warptime, you could reroll any failed roll to Hit and to Wound.

Now, you may reroll ALL To-Hit and To-Wound rolls, regardless of what you have rolled. For example:

Previously, if you rolled 2 Hits and 3 Misses, you could reroll your 3 misses and keep the hits.

Now, if you roll 2 hits and 3 misses, you can either keep what you have, or you reroll all 5 dice and keep the new result.

Instead of effectively "twin-linking" all of your hits and wounds, you now just have a single "group reroll".

Side effects of worshiping Papa Nurgle include (and are not limited to): Boils, scabs, internal bleeding, external bleeding, bleeding from the gums, eyes and ears, sweating, dehydration, furuncles, rash, pus-filled sores, nausea, vomiting, bloody vomit, black vomit, black & bloody vomit, sneezing, runny nose, dry nose, coughing, dry cough, wet cough, not-so-dry-but-still-raspy coughing, fever, hay fever, athlete's foot, athlete's arm, swimmer's ear, farmer's tongue, drowsiness, sleepiness, insomnia, mad cow disease, mad postal worker disease, loose bowels, constipation, anal leakage, and blood clotting. In most cases side effects were generally in the extreme and permanent. Consult your local cultist before worshiping Nurgle.

I've tried something similar. Sticking the defilers close to the dreadnoughts keeps them from hurting anything too serious, while also allocating a lot of fire power to a small area of the board. Not that you have to worry about the dreadnoughts hurting stuff, since you only have two tanks on the field.

Lesser Daemons and DPs takes care of your close range, really, if there's anything left after you blast it to bits with battlecannons, LCs and PCs.

Seems like a great list, really. Very nice.

Since the Greater Demon still takes away a champion I would avoid it. You just do not have enough champs to make it worthwhile.

Your still over points, So you still need to fix that.

The rule still is if you don't have a Icon or Champ on the board (or the same turn the Icon or Champ come in from Reserve), you lose your summons. You also have no control when they come on... when you roll them they show up. So your plan for using the lesser demons in the way you discribed is totally flawed because you have no idea when they will show up.

remove 2 lesser daemons and im back in the points range. as far as space marine surviveability..... if they were on foot this may be a problem......but when the rhinos go they get behind it.. they are meant to crawl behind the defilers daemons and dreadnoughts and support them with thier summons. target saturation should keep them pretty safe.

I would replace the Dreads with Predators, personally. It still keeps with your big things theme you're going for. I just like that they're more reliable.

It would be very interesting to play against. Fun list.
