It took a picture from (presumably) WW1 for you to know that scotsmen were badass? Just look at their national drink, and the fact that they originate from so far north, yet still wear kilts
I should point out that I was drawn to your initial post, because being a Canucks fan, I thought you were on about hockey.

Looks like they're having a wonderful time in that photo, enjoying summery weather and mild conditions that they wouldn't get back home.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

These are Canadian Infantry, not Highlanders.
I'm a Toronto fan myself, Bruins in the states.

Well, I figured they were Canadian, since you posted as such, but they are obviously of Scottish descent

I can't say for certain, but it comes from the personal collection of a friend. All of the other pictures are clearly WWI. all things are possible though.

Those could be WWI or WWII. Commonwealth uniforms (to the laymen) don't look that different between the two periods so its hard to tell unless your an expert in period garb.
