Probably work

They're practically the same list. Roll the d6.

I choose NONE.

Alright, if I had to pick one, #5. I like having a couple of big squads who can fit in one transport if they aren't combat squadded.

I like it, razorback spam is pretty nice looking
Psybolt ammo
x40 Greyknights +3 dreads + 5 razorbacks. Looks good to me.

Does every squad need x2 halberds?

The purpose of argument is informative discourse, not to see who finishes in front.

Thanks for the response!

I ended up going with something else entirely. I think Rhinos are the way to go too.

I'm going to heavily playtest this before making any changes:

It's hard to decide isnt it?

GK have a ton of options, and Crowe lists are amongst the best. Looks like a mean list, with 4 Dreads and 30 Purifiers. I like 2 TL Autocannons on my Dreads but it makes sense to put the Assault Cannons on the Ven Dreads if you plan on getting close with them anyway.

May want to add search lights and dozers so you arent hindered or possibly imobilize your short rang assault.

The enemy of my enemy is a bastard so lets kill him too.

Your last list looks like the best to me (not number the 6 the one posted later).

Rhinos are the best bet with Purifiers if going down the Psycannon spam route and it doesn't include the random out of place strikes and interceptors.

However what I'd suggest is, drop all the hammers. You shouldn;pt need them in assault. With hammer hand you're woulding on 3s anyway and going before furious charging marines is a huge boon. |You shouldn't need the hammer for walkers or MCs as they should all be toast long before they get near your purifiers. The warding staves I'd never considered but they might work well (ensuring you take no damage when assaulting that 5 man squad with a powerfist).

However the Ven dreads look wierd. Are they firebase or short ranegd support?

If firebase they need 2 twinlinked autocannons, the reason being range, the biggest (in fact the only) weakness your purifier squads have. If you're going to play aggressively with them then dump the autocannon and keep the fist for assault. Personally I'd keep at least 1 for fire base preferably both as they do something that the rest of the army doesn't, but I could see the advantages of sending 1 forward with the Purifiers to help with target saturation and to secure enemy objectives.

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com

Agreed.

The Hammers can be S10. This helps against all vehicles. Against MCs, I like knowing I've got an easy go-to Force Weapon. I'd rather have one "just in case." I don't really see a regular Marine squad killing the rest of the Purifiers (and causing me to lose my Hammer attacks).

FlingitNow wrote:The warding staves I'd never considered but they might work well (ensuring you take no damage when assaulting that 5 man squad with a powerfist).

They sure are expensive, but I think they have their merit. If they work even once, they've bought their points back (as opposed to simply having another Marine).

The Ven Dreads will move up and provide Reinforced Aegis as well as tarpitting. With only 2 Attacks, I don't really like the Doomfist, even if it's WS5. I have plenty of Hammers for anti-enemy Walkers and MCs. I think I'd rather have 4 more S8 shots per turn.

Well, that list actually looks strikingly similar to jy2's Purifier Spam list. You might check out some of his battle reports to see how he's been doing with it. It looks like you have more than him though, but I think he does 1500 usually. He might also do razorbacks.

As far as the list itself goes, it looks effective, if not somewhat boring. I like the vendreads with assault cannons as well as autocannons, and I've toyed around with the idea of doing something similar myself. I would like to know how those work out for you.

His 2000 point list is similar. He likes having a regular Strike Squad for Warp Quake / a ride for Crowe.

I'm convinced it's a good setup. We'll have to see how actual playtesting goes! 4 S7 Rending shots sounds better than 2 TL S8 shots to me. With BS5, the investment sounds even more awesome.

What about this:

Grey Knights
Crowe
10 Purifiers - Warding Stave, 6 Halberds, 1 Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino
10 Purifiers - Warding Stave, 6 Halberds, 1 Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino
5 Purifiers - 2 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino
5 Purifiers - 2 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino
5 Purifiers - 2 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino
5 Purifiers - 2 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino
Dreadnought - Assault Cannon, Psybolt Ammo
Dreadnought - 2 TL Autocannons, Psybolt Ammo
Dreadnought - 2 TL Autocannons, Psybolt Ammo
Total - 1995

5 points to spare. Still no ride for Crowe.

Warding Staves would be on the Keepers of the Flame. I still intend to have a pair of Dreads moving up and providing Reinforced Aegis and tarpitting. Each one would basically shadow a 10-man squad.

I think it looks a lot better otherwise though.

The 10 man purifier squads are nice, but I think I'd rather see the vendreads in action. As close as you have to get with the assault cannons, you're probably going to want the protection that being venerable gets you.

I think this will be it:

Grey Knights
Crowe
Ordo Xenos Inquisitor - Rad Grenades, Psychotroke Grenades, Psyker Upgrade, Hammerhand
9 Purifiers - Warding Stave, 5 Halberds, 1 Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino
9 Purifiers - Warding Stave, 5 Halberds, 1 Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino
5 Purifiers - 2 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino
5 Purifiers - 2 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino
5 Purifiers - 2 Halberds, Hammer, 2 Psycannons, Rhino
5 Strike Squad Grey Knights - Psycannon, Razorback with Psybolt Ammo
Dreadnought - 2 TL Autocannons, Psybolt Ammo
Dreadnought - 2 TL Autocannons, Psybolt Ammo
Dreadnought - 2 TL Autocannons, Psybolt Ammo
Total - 1999
