Wargames Factory announces 15MM WWII Germans!!!
We are always in the midst of designing new sets and are very enthused to share news of our latest and soon to be released kit- 15MM World War II Germans! The kit will contain 84 single-part figures complete with bases & will retail for $19.95.
These figures are being cast right now and our team is blown away by the high level of detail we were able to capture in these little guys! Stay tuned for more photos and information soon- we believe you will be just as excited about these new miniatures as we are.
People may complain all they want about WGF, but $20 for 84 15mm models is a decent price.
To compare, Battlefront sells 48 minis for $30 in metal.
Old Glory sells 50 minis for $15 in metal.
84 Plastic Miniatures may be marginally worthwhile depending on their quality; it may end up being like standard dollar store green army men.
I just hope WGF finally learned how to make sharp edges on their plastics.
The picture is a bit misleading with that tank though.

We'll see how this turns out, I am on the lookout for cheap troops in that scale, but after the last few kits by WGF, wait and see it is for me.

Depends on what you mean by 'cheap' though.
This WGF set is about $0.25 per figure.
Command Decision metals are about $0.30 per figure.
Battlefront/Flames of War has about $0.63 per figure.
Pardon the USD currency, but the price comparisons should still hold.
This WGF set is still 'cheap', but not by that much, really.
If quality suffers, people will continue buying Command Decision.
Personally, I'm looking for bulk 15mm models from all modern-ish eras for use in RPGs.

Not that cheap compared to equivalent product.
Plastic Soldier Company
15mm German Infantry (130)
$28 regular price, $26 Warstore price.
$0.215 per figure.

I've seen these in person. They are very good. Essentially the 1/72 models shrunk down.

If the boxes were blank cardboard and had post-it notes that said "DOES NOT CONTAIN HEPATITIS C" it would be more attractive packaging. I'm looking on the website and not finding any pictures of sprues or models.

I'm also going to take a awhile guess that the 15mm will be scaled down one peace versions of the 28mm sculpts. Remember that WGF sculpts everything in 3D modleing programs now. Lower the detail on the 28mm sculpts and you now have 15mm.

The price of the figures is irrelevant without taking into account the quality of the figures. You couldn't pay me to take the WGF Amazons.
Also, they really need to stop pretending that colorized computer models are adequate ways to advertise miniatures. All that tells me is that the final product is even more shameful than the CGI.

So to all you who thought this company couldn't get worse
Aside from the face of the guy with the mp40 having chinese features, the helmet is too big as are the magazine pouches. The "army men" in the background don't fill me with confidence that the rest of the set will be any better. I really feel like swearing looking at this; it's very bad.

I hope you all realize that those awful covers are not the actual product itself.
In all honesty, I think it would be significantly cheaper if they just go the route of GW, Corvus Belli, Wyrd, and even their own greatcoats and just scrap the art and put images of only the actual miniatures.

The image of the sprue is up:
Really, it's nothing impressive. WGF was bold enough to copy+paste the same sculpt onto the same sprue; rather lazy. It's 20 different sculpts that mimic the poses in the standard pack of Green Army Men you can get at the dollar store.
The Plastic Soldier Company pack has more poses, consists of multi-part figures, and costs less per figure.
Terrible disappointment for me. The lazy Copy+Paste of sculpts is just an insulting disappointment.

I guess the typical Wargames Factory "greasy poop" quality might be mitigated by the size of the models, but they look alright from back here. Considering they're 3D models that can just be rigged and posed differently, copy/pasting the same pose like that is really lazy though.

Dude - they are 15mm. Who is god's name wants multi-part models or worries about similar pose at 15mm? Stick 6 of them on a base a quick spray and a bit of wash, pick out metal and voila - call it good.
WGF produces some aweful stuff but having a dig because 15mm aren't multi-part is just wrong. Far cheaper than those rip off merchants at BF and let's face it, they cannot be any worse quality than BF products. Maybe a purchase.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games. |

Their closest substitute product is Plastic Soldier Company's 15mm Late-War German Infantry sprue. Some of those figures are multi-part. WGF's sprue having lazy copies on the same sprue is a strike against them.

Not having a 'dig' at WGF for not having multi-part figures. I'm saying they're inferior to the cheaper PSC sprues in comparison for that reason among others.
Agreed about Battlefront.
I've always been a fan of Command Decision myself.

10 soldiers firing from the shoulder whilst standing and an officer with a pistol pointing slightly up means a quarter of the sprue belong more to a firing squad than anything else.
Panzerfaust troops are not firing their weapons, neither are the guys with mp44s and the soldier leaning back position is silly and there certainly doesn't need to be three of them.
Overall they look better than the renders seen earlier but the poses are boring and unrealistic.
