Posted in my army list thread, but I'll probably get a better answer here:

Any idea on how deathstrikes with heavy bolters fire? IE, can I try to fire the main rocket and if I fail the countdown roll choose to fire my heavy bolter? Or is it a 'once I announce my intentions there's no going back' sort of thing?

Generally once you announce the intention to fire a weapon and attempt to fire it you can't choose again. The deathstrikes rule says "when firing roll the dice and apply the following modifiers" So I would say that if you attempt to fire it and it doesn't go off you can't choose the heavy bolter.

more importantly the deathstrike is an ordnance weapon. so you cant fire them both in the same turn. once you try to to shot one the other can be fired.

I put a Hvy Flamer on mine. It keeps Wolf Scouts and Snikrot on guard. Once the missile fires the hull is either a free-kill point that needs to be kept hidden or an objective contester to run around with at the last set of turns.

My buddy just keeps the DS Missile Launcher hidden until it successfully launches. So far every time on turn 2....grumble grumble. Then it rolls out and starts shooting.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
