Im considering a few variants of troops (mainly using the chimera a mobile bunker).
I understand that it has 6 fire points + hatch. my interpretation is that i may:
a) fire a mix of special weapons + lasguns to the value of 6 from the fixed fire points. + 1 additional firing point from the hatch (or use it for a commander to issue orders)
b) fire 3 x heavy weapons (im assuming i cant fire mortars?) but what about all the other alternatives? Can these be fired from within the chimera?
Im a little confused on how i can load out the chimera effectively.
Im not asking for the complete rules, i have the IG codex and the rule book and i have read them. IM just struggling to interpret them correctly..

mmmm...i think that it says " the team inside the Chimera can fire up to an half of the members".
So, 10 models 8+HWT = 3+HWT (counts as 1 model with 2 hits) and 3 normal

First, Chimera has 5 FPs measured from the hatch. It is not 6 Lasgun emplacements + 1 from the hatch.
Second, if the unit did not move in their movement phase, they can fire a number of weapons ≤ the number of FPs. If the unit had moved they can only fire rapid fire or assault weapons, unless they have a special rule to fire heavy weapons after moving (such as relentless).

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Umm, the Chimera has 5 firing points. Pg 39, IG Codex. "Five models can fire from the top hatch."

As has been said, only 5 fire points, but you can shoot anything you of them. You can shoot any 5 while stationary or 5 RF or Assault weapons if you moved.
