Hello everyone. I am considering getting a 2nd army and or going High Elves once again and I noticed the spell Vauls Unmaking in their Lore of High Magic. I have never used High Magic before is why I am asking this in the first place, the spell says this:

-"Items like hand weapons, shields or armor will become 'mundane' items of the same type while talismans, scrolls and the like will be rendered completely useless"

Now my questions are this:

- Is it a permanent affect? Like If I were to cast this at a DE mage with the sacraficial dagger I could get rid of it for the rest of the game?

-Can this be used on Magic Standards such as the Razor Banner, Banner of Eternal Flame ect?

Yes gone for the rest of the game. A standard bearer in a unit would be come a normal unit standard and a BSB would be a normal character with a flag.

The BSB still acts as a BSB though doesn't he? I.e, you can still re-roll leadership within range, but any magical effects of the banner are gone?

Yes it doesnt negate the BSB rule as being able to re-roll LD tests, but the fact that you can completely take out someones magic stuff is awesome! I am surprised none of the High Elf players I have played before have taken High Magic, that spell seems really really good. See that Chaos Wizards puppet? Gone!

He is a BSB, as that isnt a magical effect. He just loses the magical properties of the banner
