Saw this article today on the BBC site, apparently the slower we walk is a sign of higher risk of dementia.

Eh, I walk particularly fast b/c I'd rather 'get to my destination faster' and I like to make a bit of an exercise-game out of, for instance, walking to get lunch while I'm at work.

Never trust a slow walker. Anyone who's not in a hurry lacks work ethic.

And those with no work ethic, should not be trusted.

I walk rapidly, so I am a paragon of health!

I walk slowly due to a bad limp, and sometimes need a cane.

I have a terrible work ethic.

But you have a cane which makes up for it with class.

I walk faster than anyone else I've ever seen, so I guess that's good. My fast walking really pisses people off, especially girls, who for some reason like to talk about nonsense when they walk.

I walk slow to take in the scenery, because I spend all my work time being ethical; and don't get to see what is around me.

It would be a pity if you never managed to pass on your fast walking genes to a new generation.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

I walk slowly because I have patience, and like to take my time with things.

Why, have you ever tripped on your own two feet? It is not a good feeling, not at all...

You're not playing the game like I play it...why aren't you playing the game like I play it?! O_O

I walk slow because I have bad knees, caused by a combination of arthritis and obesity. Anyway, I had a goddamned wonderful work ethic for decades, and all it ever got me was screwed over by the growing number of sociopaths in the world. Nowadays, I don't care what anybody thinks of my walking speed. As for dementia, I'm considerably less demented than i deserve to be, based on some of the insane adventures I've had. People are always holding the door for me waaay too long, and in those instances, I speed up just because even though it's a sort of passive-aggressive habit, I just don't want to deal with anyone's attitude if they think I'm going slow just to stick it to them. However, I never walk fast in crosswalks, because I DO like to stick it to people who drive too fast in parking lots. There are a lot of you out there, and I know who you are............
