I've been playing hordes of chaos since I got into warhammer and mow looking for something completely different from my nurgle daemons and beastmen army?

  Any ideas?

Why not try an army with some war machines or archers/pistols/crossbows of come kind; beasts and Nurgle have no range, so it'll be a nice change of pace. Something like DE, Empire, that kinda things. Dwarves might be an option but are similar to your armies in that they're high toughness, good armour, etc, whereas DE and Empire tend to not be so much.

What are DE and Empire like? haven't played either much recently.

Do all tree lists work for WE

Units of dryads, branchwraiths, treemen etc.

WE's aren't fan favourites, but on the bright side there won't be a lot of people doing the same thing as you. All woody armies have good survivability but lose their ward saves vs. magical weapons. That, and armies with fire attacks (which are in vogue due to regen) will mess up treemen and treekin (not dryads).

Personally I think it's neat but I can't promise you'll win every game...

Nurgle and Beastmen are tough infantry and expendible infantry. So I also suggest going to either shooty or war machines or monsters (like Ogres).

Skaven might be fun with all kinds of super high tech warpstone weapondry. And you seem to like evil.

It is a character defect of mine, well noticed although to balance it I play radical inquisition/grey knights in 40k

Dark Elves can be shooty, but your friends may refuse to play against you... not fun to see your opponent lay down bolt throwers and 40 Repeater Crossbowmen (with shields so they get a 6+ parry ward) - that's about 80 armour piercing crossbow-bolts and 12 of their larger cousins coming at you a turn, not to mention if you want to go magic shooty as well. And the corsairs can be shooty as well as being resistant to shooty...
Dark Elves are fun, none of the units are actually bad to use, and it'll probably stay like that for a while.
Plus some of the Dreadlord builds are criminal. 1+ armour save, effectively a 2+ ward and stubborn Ld10? With a Great Weapon? With eternal hatred? Yes please!

Oh, and twin Hydras. 350 points for both of them, trust me, people complain.

How does he effectively get a two+ ward? is it like the archon has in 40k?

The Pendent of Khaeleth. Depending on the strength of the attack you have to roll equal to or under the strength of the attack. A 6 would always fail.
