I recently noticed at my FLGS that they sold gw liquid green stuff. i read up on it and basically it is like paint but an adhesive like the normal putty. I am interested in getting some for my conversions but I was wondering what different experiences people have had with the stuff and the out come of such uses.

here is a link to the gw website for the stuff.

Edit: Also what would the usefulness for putting together metal models?

I would pick it up if you plan on using it to smooth out surfaces or to fill in small cracks. If you buy it for that purpose it works extremely well.

I have my thoughts on the stuff.
I posted my opinion on my blog here. There was some good discussion in the comments as well.

I tell them its "The ten-zero factor, coolness ten, combat effectiveness... zero."

I've been looking at this with a skeptical eye since it came out. It's good to know that I don't need bother trying it out.

I like it. It's a nice surfacing putty. Does what it's meant to, so for covering seams, smoothing out surfaces and minor gap filling it's great. You can even sculpt it into ridges by back-brushing.

Liquid GS is amazing for gap filling / resin bubble repair. Don't use it for sculpting or detail building.

It's not great for sculpting but is really useful for smoothing purposes if you don't have a surfacing agent.

Also great for gap filling. If you sand/file a lot, this is really useful since you won't have to wait for a surfacing agent to dry before continuing with the model.

I used to smooth out surfaces. It went a little powdery on me though. Small gaps yes.

I've read a few blogs and reviews about the stuff. I honestly cant say I could justify the cost vs utility on the stuff...

I have already gotten my second bottle of it. I think it works great, not only for filling in little gaps, but also for holding stuff together like weapons.
You wouldnt go wrong adding it into your paint box.

You wouldn't be saying that if you'd used it.

I like LGS. It's no good for filling large gaps, but it does have its purposes. I've been testing out ways to make dungeon floor bases to match the SDE bases. I did this up in just a few minutes.

I've used it, I bought two pots when it came out, and honestly I don't even think it's any good for that. Even small gaps and the holes need multiple applications with the liquid stuff to get the hole/gap completely filled, at least in my experience anyway. And if you have to do it over, and over, and over then why not just say screw it and take a couple minutes to mix the regular stuff together and get it done the first time?

Or at least that's my opinion on it. It's still not a bad tool to have around, but it's not the bottled miracle I was personally expecting.

I agree it is so awesome for the gap filling and minor repairs a models might need. You can not sculpt with it though.

It must be pretty good GW stores are always sold out and LGS are always sold out. At kleast around me.

Thanks guys for all of the feed back. One thing that has been left un answered is what about using this stuff to put together metal models or regular models?

What models and such did you use the liquid green stuff on? I am thinking like structural points where high stresses on the model are common (ex. sentinel's leg joint or something)

Do not use Lgreen stuff as a bonding agent, you will be disappointed. Regular green stuff with a bit of superglue is much better. There is still some elasticity before the glue dries to get the position just right. Lgreen stuff dries too quickly when applied with superglue.
