I am here from February to July and didn't bring any of my stuff but I'm starting a new army as soon as I can find a store. I know the Dakka Store finder has a lot of stuff but it's Google Maps based, so I can't view it here in China (unless you have suggestions for proxies) so I'm looking for people to play with in a bit and hopefully point me toward some good stores to start picking some stuff up!

You should also post stuff on the various ex-pat sites in Beijing like the Beijinger and Time out Beijing. There was a growing community there when I left and, given the addition of the GW shop in Shanghai it seems it's still there.

Thanks again and will do! It was just our computer that wouldn't load Gmaps so I found the other places you had mentioned before via PM. I am going to update your location of Warhammer Elite once I check it out today because the GW website and your postings show different places on the map for whatever reason. And I forgot to post stuff on the Beijinger, thanks!

So 3 1/2 hour trip to SoShow and found no Warhammer on 6th (or any other) floors. =( Maybe it closed

Just to update this thread incase anyone sees this, I found the best place in the area. Prices and stock are both really good, especially for in a place like China that doesn't have much of a 40k base.

It's REALLY hard to find (it's actually an apartment converted to a store) but they've got 3 tables that you can play at for free (I know some places here charge) but once you know your way there it's a good place. You can see all of their prices on the link above, it's slightly cheaper in store for most stuff. The owner speaks English and they will call him to act as a translator if your Chinese is poor (Poor is an understatement for me haha). I met two guys there who both speak some English and everyone is really friendly. If you need some better directions or want a game hit me up. I'm definitely looking for some games, though I'm at low points as I'm starting up again.

I did, but I wasn't able to get the exact address to work right. Warhammer Club Beijing was nice, but prices were very high, 375 for a Chimera where this place sold me the 25th Anniversary box for 275, and that's with a full squad of Guardsman (another 180)!

Haha yeah a lot of the guys I played with are now out of the city till the fall. I don't have the address but email Lu at tom.louk@126.com for info. He's the store owner and it's a really great place. It's got a similar selection but has a lot more space and 6 tables to play at. If you go there on a Saturday or Sunday there are plenty of people to play with.

Honestly your best bet is just going there during the weekend (1-4PM there are always a lot of guys in who play) so hopefully he responds soon. If not and you want to check it out you can go to
Jianguomen on Line 1/2 (SouthE) exit B, turn left out of the subway and after 3 blocks you'll see Bao Steel Tower on the other side (Large glass building with large red letters). Go to the 4th floor and you'll find it up there (it's all open so if you're walking around you'll easily recognize all the 40k boxes, everything else on that floor is kids books haha)

Yeah I finally went and even had a game (which I lost of course) on Sunday. The guys there are nice and luckily for me most of them speak good English. Seems the prices in the Fengtai shop are the best however.

Btw did you come across any painting services? I would love to paint everything I have but I have boxes of stuff that I will never have time to paint.

Ask Lu about a membership car and it gives you a 15% discount. It's usually close in price. As for painting services I have no idea but if you asked Lu or some other players they might be able to point you to someone. Obviously it'd be a LOT cheaper that it would be back home!

I dunno... Seems pricey for commisions here too as its done in spare time rather than as a semi/full job. From what i have learned thus far anyway.

Hi, I'm looking for 40K games in Beijing. I'm designing a table with custom scenery at home but would also be willing to meet for games. I have a solid force of space marines. About 2,000 points -- mostly painted and still building (attached is a picture of a Dreadnaught and a Whirlwind I finished recently).

I know a couple of other people in town that claim to play. Good people, but I haven't been able to get them to the table yet. I've lived here for many years and will be here for awhile. I think with a little effort we could have good regular group of gamers. I'd be happy to organize if you want to shoot me a message.

Great! I'm not there anymore but you can check out the game store at the Steel Tower near Jiangoumen (Lines 1, 2) where there are guys who are usually playing on Saturdays. We even played a mega game of 4v4 1500 per players once. I'll shoot you some info. Most of the players there speak pretty decent English too (if you're an expat)

Hey, I managed to find the crew playing at the Bao Steel building. It seems like a good and enthusiastic group. I didn't play, but hung out for awhile. I think I will try to go down for a game next weekend if anyone wants to meet me there. Also, as I mentioned, I'm working on a board at home that doesn't use that green carpet stuff (bleh, just kills the battlefield feel). I'm happy to host games at my apartment if anyone is interested.

I just arrived back in Beijing and will be here for the next year. I have an undivided CSM army somewhere in the neighborhood of 2500 points (mostly painted; still a work in progress). If your interested in a game I'm always interested. although, I have yet to play a game using the new rules. I have read them through for the most part and have lots of experience with previous versions of 40k.
