I'm a rather inexperienced player for 40K so far since I've only been playing a year or two on and off depending on how events fold out. Generally I played at either friend's houses or at the Memphis Battle Bunker. I play an Armored Cavalry Regiment of the Imperial Guard with a small detatchment of Ordo Hereticus and Ordo Malleus with them. I got into the hobby because I really enjoyed modeling the tanks and armor though I'm still quite horrible at it. The only complaint I have with my IG is the task of painting such a large amount of infantry at times can be... imposing. Sometimes I wonder if playing a small elite army to start off would've been better... but I enjoy my Regiment.

Welcome to dakka 19K! Aye, painting large amounts can be quite daunting. My advice for you is paint in batches at a time, say 20 infantry.

I think my biggest problem is my production rate outpaces my painting rate... lol... so i have enough to field a fully painted army... it's just all my good custom work is unpainted still or still in the works. Ah well... hopefully by the time I get back stateside from this stint I can finish them up. I'll try to post some pics sometime as well though I don't have my army with me here.
