sooo, aside from my feudal imperial guard (currently trying my patience) I've decided to pick up and finish off my old nurgle army.

I started these back in 2009, but never really got round to continuing them (got into orks). Since then they were languishing in my wardrobe, until recently when I put up a display cabinet. Naturally I wanted to populate it with my favorite models and out of the wardrobe they came. But once they were out, the fire (or pus) in my heart was reignited, I couldn't stop myself, I just had to do more.

Anyway here's the old bunch from 2009.

The lordy thing, I suppose it's a lord, bordering on daemon prince. (I don't do battles at all so they were never tailored for gaming)
I used the terminator lord box (great kit), extended with wire and greenstuff, nurglified. A nice forgeworld shoulder pad. The "head" is from the chaos warrior horsemen.
Originally it had that hand from the possessed kit but I decided to swap it for a chainfist.

Next, the tac squad, was always dead pleased with these. Problem was, the paint scheme I used was stupidly complex and I can't really remember it which makes finishing the last four a bit annoying, but i'll give it a try. With the champion, I gave him a hint of pre-heresy coloring (also has a loyalist chestplate) which I enjoyed, but in the future I want to move towards assortments of chapter colourings, as I want the feel for them to be a rag tag warband of traitors from all chapters.

The raptors, I just had to do them, I think based on the idea that nurgle raptors were unusual (hadn't really seen any before). Obviously used the assault marine box, elysian heads and a few chaos bits here and there. The rocks on the bases are actually bits of foil balled up, which was a good idea at the time but tended to disintigrate. Recently I have begun pinning them from the foot, through the foil to the base. Love this squad to bits.

Anyway, here's the WIP bit. I wanted to do all the troopy stuff first, so the next logical step was terminators. After considering both the loyalist and chaos boxes, as well as grey knights, old metals and scratch builds, I settled on a friend's old AoBR termies (for monetary reasons really). Stripped the paint off, got to work.
I thought about this for a while, and wanted them to have the same group identity that I pulled off with the raptors. In the end, (at about 4am while trying to sleep) I moved into the realms of fluff, imagining five brothers, together since their homeworld, chapter founding, and fall to nurgle.
I have actually written some fluff for them but that can wait.

The champion had to be done first really, and I followed similar techniques to the old lord, extending the legs with wireframe. obviously, used bits from the chaos horses, as well as the possessed arm that used to be on the lord. I'm really pleased with the pose, the sort of gangly advancement and terrifying leer. Not 100% sold on the reaper autocannon, might add a bit of detail.

(scale)
The rest of the squad will be more recognisable as terminators, next up being the standard bearer.
While I am pleased with my paintwork, it has advanced a lot since then and I can't wait to paint the termies when they exist.

Please, feel free to add any level of comment or critical advice. I know the squad pics are rubbish.
