Hey kids

So, I have like 5000 pts of IG, but I wanna start a whole new guard army. Mostly just for painting fun, going for a desert color scheme. Anyway, I figured it might be fun to build it as an all vet & stormtrooper & maybe ogryn army, using non-gw models.. I'm thinking Mantic's corporation figs for the regular vets, micropanzer's battlesuits for ogryns and possibly their walkers as sentinels. I want to go for a "high tech & elite" looking army, around 1000 pts.

It doesn't have to be competitive at all, just fun to paint & play for small games. I've never really done any kind of mechanized force, so I might want to try that.. but I'm fine with keeping everyone just on foot and defensive which is how I always play my IG anyway.

So, any ideas? What would you want in a small vet army?

Heck yes lol vets a few valkryies maybe some chem cannons or sentinals i usually feild 2 commisars 6 vet squads 4 squads have meltas 2 squads have plasma w/las cans 4 scout sentinals 2 valkries 2 chimeras and a leman russ punisher w/ lascan and pask at around 2000 pts its always a blast lol

I do for a 1k
2 Vendettas
1 Chimera
1 Russ
3 vet squads with 2 meltas a Heavy Flamer and the Demo. Upgrade
HQ is a Psyker or Lord Commissar.

You could do Elysian or Storm trooper based.
4 vendettas
3 vet squads (special weapons)
1 HQ

hmm .. well, right now I have 1 unpaitned valkyrie, could convert it to a vendetta, but for me anyway, it seems like it just gets blown away in the first turn or 2. Lately I've just been taking more tanks or men instead and I seem to do better that way. So that's why I was thinking more like men + sentinels + a tank or 2.

Do full platoons and penal troops supported by russs and or sentinals
