Hey guys, i realize Dakka might not be the best place to ask this, but I'm looking for a video editor that works in windows 7. I would prefer a free one, since I'm strapped for cash (warhammer ).

Basically, what I'm using it for is to cut and edit videos to make Let's Plays to stick up on youtube. I got into Let's Plays a couple months back and figured i would try my hand at making them.

If anyone knows something for me, i would appreciate it. Before anyone says anything, I tend not to google for software, but instead look for other peoples recommendations, as users tend to have much more honest opinions than the guys who made the software.

The only one that comes to mind for PC isn't free, but Adobe Premere Elements, I think it's like $80. Video editing software is kinda pricy if you want to do anything good, or you can get something generic that comes with your camera, but those usually pretty much suck :(

My advice is to buy a Mac, it comes with iMovie for free

What about Windows Live Movie Maker? Chances are if you have Windows 7, you can run a search and find it already installed.

It's very, very basic, though. Assuming you can scrump up, say, $39.95, you could get Videopad, which is really easy to use and a bit better than Movie Maker.

If your budget is zero, then windows movie maker is the best call, but it's really not very good. The cheapest thing I would EVER consider using is premiere elements, but I'm spoiled.
