So does this character unit seem fair?

The fluff paints him as a bit of a Marty Stu. Might want to tone down some of it.

The statline doesn't really make sense. Drop the BS down to five, boost the I to 5, and take the bonus attack off the statline. AFAIK, no other character does that.

The Infernus Pistol seems like it was thrown in for no reason and it's not normally a GK weapon. Do normal Grey Knights get access to Melta weapons at all?

I'd boost the Knights of the Round up to 45 ppm. I'll let someone more familiar with the GK codex comment on the cost of Arthurus.

Well, Arthurus is a Grand-Master in all sense and being. The stat lines are directly answering to that of a normal GK Grand-Master except for an extra attack and AFAIK two special GM characters, Mordrak and Draigo, has an extra attack so I thought why not. Considering that, taking off the extra attack is arguable, but I don't think i'll be making changes with the BS or the I.

As for the Infernus Pistol, I just like the gun itself, and it is on the GK codex. I believe an Inquistor has a choice to take it as a weapon so I thought why not considering this guy is a special character and GK having access to the "greatest" that humanity could offer as weapons.

Knights of the Rounds were based off of the Sanguinary Guards who are also 40pts each. The statlines are the same, and the Guards have better guns in general, and they are also Jump infantry.

p.s. I also think the fluff is a bit overkill on "must be the hero all the time" but could you enlighten me on who Marty Stu is?

"Why not" isn't a good reason to make a change. BS6 and I4 are the usual for GK Grand-Masters?

Just randomly giving your guy an infernus pistol is bad design. Grey Knights don't really get access to melta weapons.

Your guys also get psychic powers, force weapons, and the shunt move. In all honesty, they should be 50 ppm, but I think 40 is too steep for Sanguinary Guard.

That's the general stat-line yes. Also, the extra attack comes from CCW plus a pistol.

I wanted to give him a gun with a shorter range and more effective stopping power. The Grey Knights are part of the Ordo Maellus of the Inquisition, so my reasoning was that GK would have access to the Inquisitorial armory not only their s7 ap4 rending psycannon. It was not exactly random. I just wanted to give him a weapon that was not a typical GK GM because he is a 'custom' character, and Infernus pistol was available as an option in the codex so I chose it for a reason.

I do agree with you on the psychic power part and the shunt move. I guess I'll make them 45pts. Sanguinary Guard also as a force weapon in my knowledge. (Glaive Encarmine or something along that line)

I don't think Grand-Master's are I4. You may want to bust out the codex on that one.

Generally speaking, you only want your custom character to differ from the generic character in ways that are meaningful to his fluff or necessary mechanically. The Infernus Pistol fills neither category. It's just there. Keep it if you like, but it feels arbitrary.

Sanguinary Guard have Master Crafted Power Weapons.

Which stat of which character are you commenting on? More precise opinion and constructive criticism would be nice....
